Neteller rumor
 

There is a rumor making the rounds that Neteller will leave the Canadian marketplace tommorow. Doesn't make any sense to me, but TIFWIW.

I would hope that if they do leave, they give us some time to get our money out but as we have seen their customers dont seem to be a big concern of theirs.

I have quite a bit of money in eurobet and they require that i cashout via neteller since thats how i deposited. WTF do I do ??? [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I'm always confused about the grey cloud that surrounds our country when it comes to online gambling. Like for example, why did Firepay leave the Canadian market? Especially since there's never been a real indication that Canada would take the same measures as the US. Seems like a very big market to just leave based on uncertainty, foregoing perhaps millions in profit. Amazon doesn't issue gift certificates in the pokerstars store for US and Canadians yet they're perfectly fine for the UK, which proves clearly they aren't too concerned with online gambling. So what gives?

although the events of the previous few months have taught us, it's always best to diversify. At one time I thought money in Neteller is 100% secure, that ain't the case no more.

The source is people in the online gaming industry. I'v e heard it from several places now. I don't know that it's true, but as I said in the OP it's a rumor and TIFWIW.

I'm not so concerned about the possibility of not having Neteller as a payment processor anymore - I haven't trusted them since the whole U.S fiasco.. I'm just getting REALLY concerned about wtf is going on wrt Canadian online gaming legislation.

Citadel, Firepay, and now possibly Neteller? There must be some kind of reasoning behind this that hasn't been made public.

This may be just that Amazon UK has a deal with Stars and they can't compete in the other Amazon markets. I know that Amazon.ca is really a different company, more of a joint venture with the .com parent.

I know you're a good source so I just put the remaining $600 in Stars (I keep all my money there mostly anyway.. I just had a little bit in neteller for bonuses). I haven't been following what to do in terms of a replacement.. *is* there a viable replacement for Neteller?

I called the VIP Helpline and was told "I haven't heard anything about it...it's not true."

Of course, take that for what you will because if it was going to happen, I doubt we'd be told, but just wanted to add it in.

You could always try contacting Eurobet support and telling them you'd like to close your Neteller account. I did this through Pokerstars on a couple occasions; of course, most websites aren't noted for having their level of customer support. I cancelled Neteller because I wanted checks from Stars instead of a Neteller credit. Of course, it disabled my Neteller account so any new deposits would require an alternate method.
