US Players on Party...Anybody?
Does anyone here play on PartyPoker from the US with a foreign account? I will have an opportunity in the next three weeks to create an account in a foreign country with active Neteller, bank account, physical address, foreign passport..the whole enchilada; but I just want to make sure before I go through all the trouble that once I get back to the US, I will actually be able to use the account. Anybody?

Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
I read in another thread that they check IP addresses. A Euro player tried to play on his account while staying in Florida. He only got access to play money games.

Do you remember what thread Matt?

Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
How much would people pay for the ability to connect through a proxy in say, Canada.
|
Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
If it were secure? Easily up to $100 a month..

[/ QUOTE ] Pretty sure I saw a thread about someone offering a proxy service somewhere...can't for the life of me remember where though. OP, you need to use a proxy in order to connect to Party from a non-US IP. Other than that, I'm pretty sure you're in the clear.. |
Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
Several posters have gone through the whole process and got it working through a VPN service. I would imagine it's a lot of trouble to setup and get working, but the end result would be pretty solid.

Dial-up + long distance plan for Canada?

Do you remember what thread Matt? [/ QUOTE ] I`m not sure. As far as I remember it was a Swedish guy. I think it was the old Official Party Regulars thread and was about maybe 7-8 weeks ago. |

[/ QUOTE ] i tried a VPN service, couldn't get it to work. i'm considering using a program called "hide my ip" it's 30$, not going to post a link though, just google it. it even states on the webpage: "YES YOU CAN USE THIS TO CONNECT TO PLAY ONLINE POKER" gl...and most importantly, keep us posted. |
Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
I believe "hide my ip" is a proxy service. There are many proxy services that available for a fee. I have the opposite problem. I am looking to try and get on Bodog but they don't accept Canadian players yet.
I am Canadian and I was wondering why you guys want to play at PartyPoker? I hope it isn't for the the easy competition cause there aren't that many fishes at the 1/2 NL anymore since they band US players. |
Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
tons of us players are playing on party currently, they're just not talking about it.
|
Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
As a european player, I am against you US pros trying to get onto Party and hope you do not succeed.
|
Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
I think I'm the only player alive who disliked Party. I don't miss them at all except for how popular they were. You could play anytime you wanted - that was nice. And every once in a while I'd get on a table with someone real fishy. I hated their software. More boring than watching paint dry.

It's still so much softer than tilt or stars. [/ QUOTE ] Well I've never played at FT and not much at Stars. But I can say that Party is WAY tougher than it used to be before they banned Americans. So I think that any US players who go through the hassle of setting up an account there may be disappointed. The 100NL and 200NL games have a lot higher ratios of solid multitablers and the higher stakes games have much more limited selection than previously. I don't really care if American pros start playing there though because I don't play there any more. They have no rakeback, bad promotions and the games just aren't that good anymore. |

Re: US Players on Party...Anybody?
What about using dialup and dialing into a foreign ISP? Yeah... your phone bill might get a little high. But would it work?
