Tentative Forum Upgrade Schedule
 

Update: Saturday Evening, March 17

As you can tell, we have not transitioned to the new archives. We're running about 24 hours behind schedule. I'm still aiming for a main forum transition next weekend but that will depend on what happens before Monday. For now plan on an outage next weekend but watch this space for a further update.

Original Post from Friday:

With any luck, by Saturday (March 17) we'll have the archives running under the new (upgraded) forum software. My current plan is to have this available for comment until next Friday, March 23.

If no serious issues surface, we'll then use Saturday, March 24 (possibly into the 25th) to do the main forum upgrade. This will require downtime. I believe, based upon the archive experience, that it will be less than 24 hours of downtime.

Of course this is all subject to change, but for the moment you should plan as if the forums will be down for Saturday, March 24.

If anyone has any issues with this schedule please let me know (via a reply to this post.)

Yes. Totally down. However, the archives will be up. You can get caught up on them.

Can we do this Saturday? I'll be out of the country and that would really work better for my schedule. Thanks, guys. This is so nice of you guys to check to make sure the upgrade timing works for us.

Is there a list of some of the new bells and whistles? I assume wood paneling, but what else?
