BB thought for a long time before calling the turn and then insta-shoved the river.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

its only ~105 to call right, getting 4/1 is pretty tough to fold

Re: So you want to fold a set???

$108 to win $427, im not folding here ever.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

i think the price is too good to fold...that being said, i don't think we beat anything except 33...56 even got there, though i can't see him having anything but a flush here since he open shoved it here...

Re: So you want to fold a set???

Snap call for reasons already stated.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

Ugh this is super gross but I can't really find a fold.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

i call and then yell at myself for not trusting my instinct.

Then I watch Reservoir Dogs 5 times till I start to quote Joe: "You don't need proof when you have instinct"

To the callers, name one hand I beat.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

Given our read of buttons play is overbetting or pushing the turn terrible?

HoldEmNewby 03-15-2007 04:09 PM

Re: So you want to fold a set???

was BB 56 suited or was it offsuit?

like i said, the only thing u beat here when he open shoves is 33 and that hand wouldn't even play this way...

that being said, the price is really good...practically, u won't win enough to make it profitable, even at 4:1, but i don't see how u can lay it down...

Re: So you want to fold a set???

river is a fold i'm just not good enough to do it in the heat of battle.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

I would think suited 65

Re: So you want to fold a set???

The odds dictate a call so it would be hard not to, but my guy says fold here (yes I may get yelled at). But honestly that is my first instinct here, i smell something fishy and think we are behind way more then we are ahead.

By the way what was the outcome?

Re: So you want to fold a set???

i can't put BB on a hand here... AdTd seems more likely than 56 for your typical opponent.

but I agree, the only hand you beat is 33, but I really can't put him on that, so looks like you're beat to me... i probably call anyway

Re: So you want to fold a set???

looks like 56, but you cannot fold here with such a odds

You're getting 4:1 on the call.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

Everybody keeps saying that you have to call because you're getting 4:1, but that's only true if you are going to win when you call at least 20% of the time. I don't see any way that you win that often here. I think you can fold, barring some history with this villian that makes a move more likely. That doesn't mean I'd actually find a fold in the heat of battle though...

Re: So you want to fold a set???

In the heat of the action, with so much invested and such a good price to call, I would not be able to fold. But, I think folding is best here. It sucks though.

Re: So you want to fold a set???

Make the shove on the river a pot-sized bet to us and we can talk. No way I'm folding getting those odds.

Yeah this is a fold.

three way pot; we're never good here with this action

Re: So you want to fold a set???

When the BB pushed I was 99.99% sure he had 56. I berated him in the chat (unjustly considering his/fish's stack sizes) and anger-called. He had 56 of course.
