the shorstack is bad. money800, your assumptions about how money maker plays poker are probably right

Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
ummm fold flop?
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
I don't like it because money is an idiot who probably can't get away from any hand that might improve on the turn
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
don't like it assuming money is stationy
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
Bluffing a dry sidepot whose main pot you may have 25% equity?

*** FLOP *** [2d 8s Ts]? [/ QUOTE ] With all seriousness, I think its only close if you think Chris is folding 90%+ of the time. Otherwise its a pretty clear fold. |
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
I play 10/20 on Party so I don't know about the PS games, but I really don't know why you don't fold this flop. This play makes no sense to me.

Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
ugg.. looks like a large donation or way for moneymaker to play back at you to me.
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
I think it's okay. Obviously can't be hugely +EV, but Money folds a decent amount here I think.
I may prefer a call since raising might get him to push you off of a hand with 7-10 outs. |
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
I'm traveling till next weekend, but I have a really funny hand on my computer about a month ago where I raise the sb with AJ he repops from bb I call flop J82 or some bad flop..it goes about 8 bets and he gets it all in with ak no flush draw. he is an idiot...unless this is for value(which if it was I'd think you were the f'n man) I fold. I don't bluff idiots anymore.

it would probably help to do someequity calculations here. money is a fish but maybe that just means he's making a loose/weak call on the flop. |
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
plus i think my equity is pretty dcent vs the small stack. he almos tnever has a set or two pair. he could have like QJ, 9J, any flush draw. his most likely hand is probably top pair but against that if money folds i am getting 3:1
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
i think u can raise less and produce the same result.
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
yeah just thinking the same thing raptor, to $600
|
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
I really don't think moneymaker folds enough here to make this profitable

I really don't think moneymaker folds enough here to make this profitable [/ QUOTE ] i actually think he folds a ton here, and by reducing the bet size from 800 to about 650 or so, he can do it a lot more often and doesnt have to get moneymaker to fold nearly as much. i think its a great play used sparingly of course. |
Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
just fold the flop bruiza

So if Money folds less than 100%, and we assume he can nearly always beat AK when he calls, it's probably a big losing play. |

Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
fold flop.

Re: Fancy Play Syndrome 10/20 hand
you guys are so lazy. responses from people that play 2/4 nl "fold the flop" are not helpful. i know it's hard for people with such limited brain capacity, but try to remember to not do it again.
http://twodimes.net/poker/?g=h&b=td+...%0Atc+js%0D%0A and pot odds are 3:1 so this is even money. if he has 9j i am 52% favorite, if he has 56 flush draw i am 42% to win the pot. 52% equity is a profit of $230. so let's say shorty mcLoser has semibluff half the time and a hand half the time, i win $125. say I actually raised to $600, so money needs to fold 80% of the time or so for it to be a profitable play (assuming i have no equity if he calls). in the hand money pushed all in with A5 flush draw |

I have no clue what money's range is? It's top pair+, OESD, or flush draw. Maybe 99/88 but probably not, since shorty's range is far and away weighted toward tens and flush draws. That's the problem in my mind with Bruiser's play; shorty has a T so often here, and a flush draw once in a while, but when he has a flush draw, money usually has a T. |
