Best Fight Scene from a Cheesy 80\'s Movie
I'm going with this one from Undefeatable, but I think the final fight from Bloodsport deserves to be mentioned also.
Looking for films with bad punches, terrible one-liners, ridiculous training montages, and lots of people yelling AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! |

Roadhouse. Don't see it if you are a smoker unless you can smoke during the movie, someone lights up every 3 minutes.

The Karate Kid alternate ending is pretty good but I don't know if it counts.

Re: Best Fight Scene from a Cheesy 80\'s Movie
While not really a cheesy movie (I actually like it) the fight between Richard Gere and Louis Gosset Jr in An Officer and a Gentleman is pretty good... Youtube

Is there more to They Live than that fight scene that would make the fight scene better? It didn't seem very interesting.

Dude wtf The Warriors was cheesy as hell. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be, and wasn't at the time, but it's pretty damn cheesy now.

Dude wtf The Warriors was cheesy as hell. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be, and wasn't at the time, but it's pretty damn cheesy now. [/ QUOTE ] "Saturday Night Fever" covers issues of social mobility and class struggle. Travolta was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor, and the Writers Guild of America nominated the screenplay for best drama. I saw it about 8 years ago along with Pulp Fiction as part of a Travolta double feature. The audience could not get past the costumes and hair, and laughed at every on-screen debut of a new wide lapel shirt open to mid-chest. Even when completely inappropriate, the pure reactionary laughter broke out. I have the feeling that you are reacting the same way to the outdated style aspects of "The Warriors." If it isn't the fashion, I'm interested to know what you find so cheesy about "The Warriors." If it is just the fashion, that's unfortunate, because I'm sure there are other good movies from the 70s that you might also have trouble with because of that ("Rollerball" and "North Dallas 40" quickly come to mind). |
