I think the last movie I cried at was ET, when I saw it in a theater as a little kid. It's not because I'm too manly to cry or whatever, it's just that TV and movies don't get to me like that.

FYI, it's Finding Neverland, and if you did cry at this movie, it doesn't make you gay. The fact that you think you are going gay makes you gay, though. Sorry bro.

as an adult, i hitched a gulp at the end of Big Fish, but didn't lose it. Oddly, I havent yet (at near 24) suffered a major bereavement.

The ending of The Green Mile gets me a little lumpy sometimes.

Paul Edgecomb: On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That is was my job? My job?

John Coffey: You tell God the Father it was a kindness you done. I know you hurtin' and worryin', I can feel it on you, but you oughta quit on it now. Because I want it over and done. I do. I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time. Can you understand?

Re: movies that have made you cry? (men only plz)

Field of Dreams: same part

Braveheart: when he is tortured at the end instead of begging for a quick death

Saving Private Ryan: when he asks his wife to tell him he's lived a good life

Forest Gump: when he is talking to Jenny's grave

The Patriot: when his little girl won't speak to him but then as he walks away she runs up yelling "daddy"

We Were Soldiers: When the wives deliver the death notices to other wives

Schindlers List: where the survivors and their families are leaving flowers on Schindler's grave

The Passion of The Christ: Where his mother and Mary Magdalene are cleaning up his blood, after he is tortured, and where his mother see's him stumble with the cross and pictures him as a child falling down.

So maybe I am weak but I don't think any of those moments are not worthy of a cry.

Edited to add
We are Marshall: where the whole town is chanting outside the commitee meeting

& yes Armagedon too

thanks for the input. i did not cry at the movie, but i almost did. i do not, in fact, really think that I'm going gay. too bad though, because being gay would be so much better than being straight. se la vi.

Gladiator's the only one that's ever done it to me.

Spoiler in white: I don't think the movie itself was incredibly sad. But at the end when he's content to die and happy to see his family in heaven, I got really upset because it made me realize how much I wish I believed in stuff like that.

shawshank
rudy
field of dreams
braveheart (i know so ghey right)
night on earth (last scene, the finnish cabby's monologue just kills me)
sling blade (discussed recently, the scene by the pond)

i've cried in lots of other movies too, usually not a lot, but definitely shed a tear or two.

no joke, i cried when walter gave the dude a hug at the end of the big lebowski, that one got me big time, no idea why

Big Fish got to me. I teared up towards the end of A Walk To Remember, basically because I am in love with Mandy. What else - Million Dollar Baby.

This is a good pick. Up until the bitter end of that episode I thought surely something good would happen to the dog. I've never seen a cartoon show end on such a sad note. Actually I'm not sure I can recall an episode of any comedy series that ended as sadly as that Futurama episode.

There are a ton of movies that make me tear up a little. They are almost always in movies where the sad scene is just a part of the movie and the whole story isn't very sad, and movies that are considered tear jerkers by most do nothing for me.

Best of the Best, when Dae Han tells Tommy that his brother was a great fighter and that he offers himself as Tommy's brother. Then all the other Koreans give the American guys their medals. I get chills just thinking about it.

Jerry Maguire gets me misty too.

Seen this come up a number of times in this thread. It gets me nearly every time too. What part is getting you guys? For me it's when Andy is playing the opera music in the office and Red is describing the beauty of it.

Futurama- Jurassic Bark when the dog dies and Luck of the Fryrish when he realizes that his brother loved him the whole time

Rudy got me the first time

Braveheart at the end when he's being tortured

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King got me when the riders of Rohan ride to what they know will be their deaths in the final battle

Basically anything incredibly heroic like the above gets me damn close, LOTRROTK is the only one I can think of right now that actually pushed me over the edge.

Even though in order to do it would mean that a time apart would have to happen beforehand, I wish I could be in one of those scenes where a lot of people get to witness me proclaiming my love to my wife.

"I miss my wife." [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Edit: Forgot to add earlier - Hotel Rwanda made me bawl my eyes out.
