Golden Palace payment problems?
 

Finally!!!

(I had whined about not getting my money in lots of other threads and I have heard some of the same from others)

This check was requested on January 28 for those of you who are still waiting!

I made a withdrawl request on 1/31 and rec'd an email on 2/5 saying the check was sent. Based on your 1/28 and my 1/31 request difference this is good news for me YES!!!!!!!
Finally I can't deposit an amount of money in a site that allows me some flexible table choices.

Oh boy...

Bad news regarding the check I was so happy about. I tried calling Golden Palace about this but I was mysteriously cutoff after waiting on hold for 15 minutes.
Here is the email I wrote...


Hello,

I am a former player from the US who recently requested 4 checks from you.

The first check was requested on January 28 for the amount of $1,000. I received this check from Web Merchant, LLC and deposited it into my bank account on March 6. I found out today that the check was returned and marked "REFER TO MAKER". After contacting Web Merchant, LLC I was told I needed to contact Golden Palace to resolve the issue. My bank charges a $5 fee for returned checks which I expect to be payed for by Golden Palace.

The second check was requested on February 3 for the amount of $500. I also received this check from Web Merchant LLC but again, after depositing it into my bank account, it was returned with another $5 charge.

The third check was requested on February 10 also for the amount of $500. I have not received this check...

The fourth and final check was requested on February 27 for the amount of $1310.77. I have not received this check...

In summary I am waiting to receive a total of $3320.77 from Golden Palace.
$3310.77 for the amounts previously requested plus $10 for the returned check fees.

I have been trying to get ahold of someone there all day. This is really starting to make me mad.

Someone please contact us US players formely from GPP that are awaiting there checks. I have a 3K check that I requested on 1/31/07 that was first sent on 2/5/07 then I was told it was sent on 2/2/07 then recently ( last friday) told it was sent on 2/20/07 and that I should have it in a week and half from the sent date. HMM, that had already come and past at the time of the conversation with CS and he told me that I should have it this week and that my money as well as everyone else's was safe. Safe how I ask now, in there pokets?

Someone get back to us ASAP!

I see that they are apart of the BIG Kahnawake Gaming Commission, so right now I'm thinking of calling that group and file a complaint against GPP. I have been hung up on now 7 times. 6 through the poker number and once I tried using the casino number. This is getting a little ridiculous.

Dan,

After numerous attempts, I just got through with them. I'm currently talking with an "Joe" from CS. Right now I can tell you that all fee's incurred from the returned checks will be covered at GPP's expense.

I have him working on cancelling my current check and telling me more info as to what is going on with Web Merchant,LCC. I will write back here as soon as I get more info.

OK, It looks like everything that I have been told these past 4 weeks have been mistruths at best. At this point I just got off the phone with Joe from CS and he told me that my check was sent today via regular courier. This will take about 2 to 3 weeks for me to get it.

Also asked if I would have any problems depositing this check and he reassured me that the problem has been fixed and any fees that anyone has encountered will be covered. I will keep everyone posted with the info as I get it.

I kept trying both numbers, not sure which one I was on when it got through. I was actually using three numbers. I had 2 for my poker account and I had one for the casino.
Good luck and be persitant, but also keep your composure as well. (which is hard, but I've always found that being respectful can go alot farther then not being respectful) espsecially since I WANT MY DAMN CHECK! LOL

This is INSANE!
I've been hung up on 5 times today!!!
They put me on hold for about 15 minutes then hang up!
I actaully spoke to a lady for about 30 seconds one of the times and when she asked me for my screen name I was mysteriously cutoff again! AAHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhAHhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

Same BS is happening to me. I keep getting hung up on. Then when I finally spoke to someone they didnt have any of my information, then told me to hold on, and I got hung up on again.

I have two checks pending/in transit still there according to recent email exchanges- even though my cashout request from early Feb was labeled "sent" in a Feb 5th confirmation email to me.
My recent round of exchanges with their accounting department (which of the four people is that I wonder?) ended with them telling me that despite notifications that it was "sent" that they had trouble getting a processor or something like that to send out checks.
Anyhow- I was "assured" that all recent cashout requests coinciding with the US ban were sent.
When I pressed about the Feb 5th check- they said there was a delay in that batch of checks but that one should have been in the mail already before this latest round. If not- it would have been included with the latest round.
Can someone please explain to me why they make it sound like they send checks out once a month?

So a few points here.
Nothing at Golden Palace was easy the last 4 months or so. Credit for promos was like pulling teeth- they never did pay me the full cracked aces promo dollars I was entitled to.
Whatever- I grew somewhat numb to their indifference and had weaned myself from play there by the time they booted us.
In addition- getting anything straightened out with a host was routinely a 20-25 minute chat minimum. Their favorite line seemed to be "I am sorry I have no further info on that. Is there anything else I can do for you today?"

As far as the checks go- I still have a buddy from New York who couldn't play after the mid to late Jan ban on certain states- who to this day hasn't received his money.
I have two checks somewhere. But this is getting ridiculous.

Why did they do such a poor job of letting us players know what has happening? That I cannot answer.
I played there for years and paid a decent amount of rake.
I would have expected an effort from them that rose above the strategy of dodge duck dip dive and dodge!!

EDIT: I have received checks from them before this. The process was still a hassle at that point- although the checks were good when they finally arrived.

hey dave i am the same situation as you even the exact cash out day to when i got my check and when my bank told me it bounce isnt this bs. do you think they are legit.
i heard they are bankrupt. i dont think we will see our check for months or maybe never. feel your pain man keep me posted lates

Here is what I was told today from Mina CS from GPP. I was told that the checks were sent out in waves (not sure why this was done or is done this way) and those first few waves of checks came from the banking institution that folded up shop on them, hence them bouncing. They have since starting using a new processor and the checks now are OK to cash. They reaffirmed to me (without me telling them that I was already told mine was on the 15th of March) that mine was sent out on the 15th of March. That made me feel a little better, but still leaves some gaps in there (like when were the replacement checks sent for the ones that bounced? and did it include the fee or charge for those bounced checks?) those question I didn't ask because I'm at the moment not in that position.

Just a little update for everyone.... I will keep you all up to speed.

I was on the phone for over an hour and half 7Dawgs, be prepared for the long run. DONT LET THEM OFF EASY keep calling and keep calling and wait on hold till they pick up and respond.

i finally got a hold of them but it took forever.
i faxed them the bad check they sent me and now all i have to do is wait for the new check. all this time wasted on this bs, i will keep you guys posted but your right snoop we cant let them off easy!! earlier i just wanted to cuss them out cuz they hung up on me right when i said " did you get my fax of your bad check" this was the 3rd call and i got through b4 that i waited 15 min and called the other line....... they got our money still and could do whatever to piss us off, but when i get that check and when it clears I AM GONNA CALL THEM UP EVERYDAY FOR A WEEK AND CUSS EM OUT LOL ... YOU KNOW WHAT I AM SAYING..

So after ripping my hair out trying to solve my cashout issues over the phone with these people, it was the emails I sent that may have actually gotten the job done for me. FYI I wrote the original email, copied it, and sent it multiple times to each of the different support addresses that were on the website:

I had a check bounce from GPP same deal as you. REFER TO MAKER. Withdrew on Jan 28th and I havent seen a dime yet. Lets all band together if we dont get the money.

Sorry I've been slow to update you guys on my situation. I did finally another check for the full amount I was owed minus the $10 in bounced check fees. It was from a Canadian bank (different from Web Merchant LLC which was from Michican). I deposited it on the 26th and so far, so good. I won't feel totally safe until another week or so though.
Also, after all this, I'm not really sure I'm gonna be willing to make the effort to get reimbursed for those bounced checks. $10 probably isn't worth the hassle but it's the friggin principle ya know!

My continuing saga....
To recap: I've had several successful cashouts via check over my play of two years there. On Feb 5th I was sent an email saying a check requested was sent out- not pending- but already sent.

Forward to end of month when I make another request for my last money left on the site when they close to US customers.
I then emailed on March 9th when I had received no followup to my last requested cashout- nor had I received the Feb 5th "sent" check.
They said they had trouble with their processor/bank and basically offered a litany of excuses why the check may not have arrived- but then assured me all pending checks had gone out in the first week of march and that things were straightened out.
I asked specifically what stage my Feb 5th "sent" check was at.
They were very ambiguous saying "it was likely it was sent out before this last batch, but if not it would be included in this last batch."
Short story- they need a new definition for "sent."

Present day: It's the end of march and I havent seen either check. So I emailed them to get it on record that I have received neither check.
The following is the crux of their response....

Your payment for (amount deleted) was sent on February 16 but since you haven't receive it, seems that it got lost in the mail so we will go ahead and resend it again and let our accounting department know that you have another cheque pending to see if they can include that cheque as well and send it. You can be sure you will receive this payouts shortly.

Excuse me while I clear my throat- coughcoughbull[censored]cough.
Also- this current reply indicates I still have a last check PENDING as in not sent yet- despite being reassured that all final cashout requests were sent out the first week in March.

Well done GPP- what excuse will I get a month from now when I inquire again about this?
