The low limit figures for rakeback are a bit wack because they have slightly higher rake than usual. Still a great deal. I mostly play 10/20 6-max and that averages $30-35/hour rakeback bonus plus cracked aces.

I can't verify who is correct on the rakeback earn at 1/2 frlh since I hardly ever play it. Bonuses at other sites at low limits can add up to more than 100% rakeback, it's true, but I didn't think it was common. I don't think UB's bonus is close to 100% rakeback, though, for instance.

In addition to 100% rakeback, a bonus whore would probably only play during Aces Never Lose times. Which adds some more ev.

Roughly speaking, assuming a little less than 100 hands/hour, you will get aces about once every 2.5 hours. They will lose 1 time in 5, or once every 12.5 hours. At 1/2 limit hold'em you get $25 bucks bonus, so that adds $2/hour to your earn.

For a casual player, you may be able to beat it because you can find enough of these good bonuses around that amount to > 100% rakeback. For anyone who plays a lot there aren't enough of these bonuses. This is especially true now that a lot of the processors (Neteller and such) are out of the US, making moving money around to get all these bonuses darn near impossible.

That being said, the games are tough. But the returns are good if you don't mind being a break even player.

Thanks for this. The WPX software is very fast, so in an hour you can get around 120 hands in at 6 max, so from my limited play there it comes to about $7 an hour at 1/2 6 max (also keep in mind that alot of times it'll be 4 or 5 handed upping the hands per hour to about 140). Anyone else getting this too? This is better than Ultimate Bet even when factoring in bonus, rakeback and cash for points there.

At 6-max the cracked aces bonus will come more quickly too, probably $2.50 or $3 per hour. $8/hour to break even on a single 1/2 6-max is one sweet package.

Rakeback rates for 10/20
 

OK, spent a few minutes to look in PT for some stats. These come from a recent period of mine.

10/20 6-max: 16,152 hands in 125.7 hours with a multi-table ratio of 1.08 and average players getting cards of 5.2. 1.08*125.7 = 135.7 table hours. MGR=rakeback= $5,120. Hourly = 5,120/135.7 = $37.7/hour.

10/20 6-max rakeback: $37.7/hour.

I averaged 119 hands/tablehour. Playing during Aces promo, I'll see aces once every 221 hands, or 1.85 hours on average, and if we assume they lose 1 time in 5, then they will lose once every 9.25 hours for a bonus of $75 bucks. That is $8.10/hour more.

Total bonus playing during Aces promo at 10/20 6-max: $45.80/hour.

10/20 full ring stats: 14,446 hands. Average players/hand: 7.47 . MGR: $4,353.59 . Hours: 134.07 . Multitable ratio: 1.1 Table hours: 147 . Hands/hour: 98 .

10/20 full ring (7.5 players average dealt in) rakeback: $29.5/hour

Aces promo 10/20 full ring (7.5 players): 2.26 hours to see an ace, 11.3 hours for cracked. $6.6/hour.

Total bonus at 10/20 full ring (7.5 players): $36.1/hour.

Wow. I believe it though. When I tried to max out my rakeback playing 4 tables at once I found myself roughly a breakeven player after rakeback, or worse. When I play one or two tables and I pay decent attention, I win before rakeback. That's something I like, actually. I can earn a decent living playing something more akin to 'real' poker. Repetitive stress injury (carpal tunnel and other variations) means that I can't multi-table for a lot of hours anyway.

This has probably been discussed before, but at the lowest limits wouldn't it be worth losing on purpose with AA?

I'm not suggesting you should abuse the promotion cos on top of the 100% rakeback it's a sweet bonus and that would just be taking the piss but at 1/2 fixed raising pf and winning the blinds would be silly. There must be an awful lot of limping in with AA, even behind limpers.

Yes, open-limping/slow-playing AA becomes common during Aces Never Lose. Makes for some interesting dynamics at times.

No, open-limping and slow-playing do not violate the terms, as they are tactics that people do sometimes use in absence of the bonus. I don't know what it would take, but a team of people playing the same table to purposefully crack aces and cash the bonus would be in clear violation.

I get paid every week by them [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]. But I'm not an employee or rep. I just think they are worth promoting, and I'd like to see more traffic there. I agree the barrage of 'You're an idiot if you play anywhere else but WSEX' after they went rakefree was annoying. But, I think one thread in the appropriate forum to remind people of this great bonus is appropriate, no?

If you look back at my posting history you'll find most of my posts were in the old Heads-up Short Handed Limit forum, but I got burnt out on the volume of posters, so I post strategy on a smaller site now when I have the itch.

Another update downloaded today following the servers being down for 2 hour maintainance yesterday. I assume it was a bug fix update, haven't noticed any changes.

Software feels especially snappy, maybe only because of light traffic at the moment.

For those of you who missed it, last week in the Zoo there was a thread where someone got his account frozen under suspicion of being a bot. Apparently WPEX introduced new bot-detection software and this guy was fingered.

Turns out it was an AHK script, WPEX unfroze his money and apologized.

WPEX could have handled it better. The guy should have been given the chance to prove his point by the Customer Service manager he spoke to. But once the GM got involved I was impressed how quickly it was resolved.

I came away happy that WPEX is actively bot-hunting and freezing their accounts, and confident that if I were mistakenly fingered, then I can trust WPEX to resolve it promptly.

I'd be ecstatic if the site got so big they had to cancel the Aces bonus. I'd much rather have the larger player pool.
