Casino w/ the Worst Hourly Rake?

I've often heard from my home casino - Motorcity (in Detroit) - that we have the absolute worst rake anywhere in world! Is yours worst than this?:

$1-2 NL (rake: $12/hour)
$5-10 NL (rake: $16/hour)

Re: Casino w/ the Worst Hourly Rake?

Most casinos don't charge hourly rakes on anything less than 30/60 limit and 10/20 NL.

As for the rakes, it varies by casino. For instance Mirage 40/80 is 7 bucks a half hour. The time charges are usually collected every 30 minutes when the dealer changes, not hourly in most places. Detroit is another animal and it's been well documented that the rake sucks there just like California.

Re: Casino w/ the Worst Hourly Rake?

Right, we have 30min rakes (not hourly) as well...but I'm saying that the "hourly" total rake comes out to be $12 ($1-2 NLHE) and $16 ($5-10 NLHE).

Still, it sucks ass, because they have a monopoly on the poker business here and we have no choice like in Vegas, CA, or Atlantic City, etc.

Australian casinos were $1 per hand per player for 10/20 limit or 2-5 NL (75c/hand for 5/10 or 1/2). That's 75c American, but that's still worse than anything I've seen in the US.

Both Foxwoods and the Borgata time charge $2-5 NL, so I'd sort of taken that to be the standard for the East Coast. Foxwoods itself is a bit of an anomaly since they also take time for $1-2 NL, but the Borg seems to adhere to AC standards for such things.

I played 100/200 SEK (approx 15/30) in a casino in Sweden. Rake=10% up to max 1 small bet.

Brag: left the LAGtard game up $1000 US in 3 hours

Treasury Casino in Brisbane AUS was $1/player/hand at 5/10 and capped at $20 for 10/20. Basically one big bet is taken out of every pot.

Harrah's NO charges $6/down ($12/hr) on all NL games including 1/2. As an added bonus they also let NL players pay the jackpot drop now also.

Cruise ship from LA down to Mex. and back had 5/10 limit holdem with a 5% rake with no cap.

Saw several pots with $40 dropped.

Is the time charge for No Limit games at Beau and the IP only? Do they charge time for the 4/8 limit game as well? Thanks

When is the last time you played at Motor City? They've been taking 10% up to $6 since about 12-27-06. The $2-5nl takes $7/half hour and the $5-10 and $10-20nl games take $8/half.

True, Canada offers some ok games, but it's a whole other hassel to have to bring your passport/birth certificate info to cross the border, then change US for Canadian dollars, get a hotel, etc. to make that trip profitable...Detroit is still more convenient and efficient overall.

Casino Windsor, right across the river from the Detroit casinos pretty much copies their setup.

Last time I went it was $6(CN)/half, but I've heard on this site that since late last year they've changed it to a rake similar to the the Motorcity/Greektown.

I didn't play at Niagara when I was there, but I seem to remember somebody saying that it was worse there than in Windsor....

Nope, it's $12/hh. Same as Commerce.

Casino Barcelona has some ridiculous rake in their 20/40€ game. 10% of pot with a ludicrously high cap. I just remember seeing multiple 5€ chips get dropped down the slot in one hand
