Re: minnesota LHE players
Hey Rouge,
I am a Canterbury regular who plays mostly 6/12 but dables in 8/16 as well. I'm no nit but I don't care for 8/16 when it regularly gets capped before we even get to see the flop so I mostly stick to 6/12 but have been considering trying the 15/30 game. It sounds like you play the 15/30 and 30/60 out there so I would love to hear your take on both, but particularly the 15/30. My brother has played 15/30 before out there and he says there were probably as many bad players in that game as in the 4/8. Let me know here or PM me if you would rather |
Re: minnesota LHE players
the 15/30 game is the biggest joke on the planet (other then the brutal 8/16), if you cant make like 90 an hour at the 15 game then im just not sure whats up.
The 30 60 game is often as good as the 15, but sometimes gets a decent amount of good players in it. overall the level of play at canterbury is brutal and that = moniez for me! only wish they spread 60 120... |

[/ QUOTE ] that might be an exaggeration but im not entirely joking either, there are probably several people who play the game who can beat it for close to 3 BB/Hr if not more, the play is that bad |

To put it in perspective for you, 3 bb/hr is about 8 bb/100. |

Re: minnesota LHE players
How does this 15/30 game usually play?
It can't be as loose as the 8/16 can it? Is it a little more tight/aggressive or still pretty loose? Do you really get players who don't know what they are doing playing that high? Thanks Guys |
Re: minnesota LHE players
I am from Minne, I mostly play online though.
|
Re: minnesota LHE players
90 an hour is surely an exaggeration... but pbob come on, the level of donkyness in that game is like unparalleled.

My brother is iloveparis from online. It was his house. You crushed my KK with your T,J suited. Yeah I'm still bitter but seriously I didn't know you posted here. You ever play live anymore? I play on UB which I think is where you said you play. PM me if you don't want to respond here. |

[/ QUOTE ] i have been in some games that were not great of late. not BAD, but not great. to say the level of donkiness is unparalleled is overstating it. making significantly more than 1BB per hour in live limit hold'em is difficult simply due to the nature of limit hold'em. |

Re: minnesota LHE players
hey i'm from MN but haven't made the trip to Canterbury yet. What are all the levels that they spread?
|
Re: minnesota LHE players
2/4-30/60
|
Re: minnesota LHE players
me is a regular canterbury 30 player.
|
Re: minnesota LHE players
The 15 game can range from horrible to incredible. Its usually good and its never so bad that I wouldnt sit in it, but its not always a juicefest. I have played in many cardrooms all over the country and have yet to sit in a game 30/60 or below that I thought was tough, (with the exception of Canterbury-obv rare)so saying the 15 game is easy, isnt saying very much comparatively.

Re: minnesota LHE players
Can somebody answer as to which game is loser 8/16 or 15/30.
I find it hard to believe that any game there is loser than 8/16. How does 15/30 generally play? Thanks |

Having it capped before the flop 20% of the time just isn't cool for me. They just love to gamble it up and it kind of throws me. Is the 8/16 always like this? Anyone have any advice or insight into beating that 8/16 game? |
Re: minnesota LHE players
yeah, that was the one exception. I still dont know why i sat in that game. The game did get real good later. That was the game where BK made his Q high call down after 4 bets went in on the turn.
|
Re: minnesota LHE players
the 30 game plays this way a lot during the evening/nights.
|
Re: minnesota LHE players

Re: minnesota LHE players
Its funny that many 6 players have foregone the 8 game altogether, because of the swinginess. I think playing 2 years in the 8 game helped to me to absorb bad beats better and therefore tilt less. Avoiding profitable situations because you might take a few nasty beats or run bad for awhile is not a great mindset if you are trying to become a great player.
