25NL Overpair TT - any chance I fold somewhere?

villain 29/10/1.3/ 200 hands

Do I go broke every time here? What's the villain's range? I'd like to try and use poker stove on that hand too.

I'd fold preflop/flop, the only hand you beat is AK and a bluff, and lower pairs aren't in his range imo.

well I dont think I would fold preflop here, as TT has some good set value

Do not fold TT to basically a minraise preflop. That's extremely nitty, and if he does have you crushed he's giving you excellent odds to spike a set.

As played, fold after he 3bets flop. You only beat 99, 88 and he's not going to be 3betting preflop with those hands considering his stats.

After raising pre-flop with your raise on the flop you are pretty much telling him that you have an overpair. If he pushes regardless there are two options:

1) He is retarded. Then it is a call.
2) He is decent. Then it is a fold as you beat only 88 and 99, both not really likely given pre-flop play.

Fold to 3-bet on the flop, he has AA,KK,QQ,JJ here 90% of the time.

Also make a proper raise PF. Minraising is ghay.

I would 3-bet PF, if I get raised again, I'm folding. Flop, I would make a block bet.

As played, I'm folding to the flop reraise.

Re: 25NL Overpair TT - any chance I fold somewhere?

ummm, pf is fine. keep in mind that he minraised so its likely he has a big hand. on the flop, raising his bet i think is pretty bad. it turns your hand into a bluff. think about it, if he has AK or AQ or whatever, he's just gonna fold to your raise right? ... and if he has a bigger pair, hes just going to raise you. so raising his bet is actually -ev. you will take it down when he has nothing, but when he has something u will lose more than u needed to had u just called and seen what he does on the turn. (you also get the added value of seeing the turn card) ... if u make a set then, and he does happen to have a big hand, you have a good chance of taking all his chips. by flatting his bet, you will most likely freeze him on the turn and river ... most players wont fire 2 barrels in a reraised pot w/ air.

this was my thought too, exactly -- but I'm not sure whether it's right or whether learning to play tight preflop is gradually turning me into a calling station. Any more opinions on whether a flop smooth call is better/worse?

Preflop is fine

I call the flop and fold to further agression, if you do decide to raise the flop you should definitley fold to his 3bet !

ok thanks for the replies

My thoughts preflop: haha it's only .50 to call, hopefully I get a set and stack him.

Postflop: yayayyaya overpair=nuts googoogogoogo lets stack that donk he got nothing mwhahahahahahha

Worst part was that I was 1-tabling

I should start thinking postflop.

I just call flop.

Re: 25NL Overpair TT - any chance I fold somewhere?

I just call the flop and probably fold the turn, particularly if the overcard falls. The only reason I call the flop is to see what he does on the turn, if he bets again I can release this.
