Lapc- main event
Justin Bonomo Eliminated
On a board of Ac-6d-4h-Jc-Jd John Monette bets $3,000 into a $8,500 pot. Justin Bonomo reraises all-in and Monette makes the call. Monette shows As-Kc. Bonomo mucks his hand and gets up from the table nice call sir. any thoughts? |
Re: Lapc- main event
No thoughts on the Bonomo hand but I see that Joe Hachem is playing another WPT event.
|
Re: Lapc- main event
Interesting. Its probably a good spot for a bluff because people dont bluff the river very often. Of course Justin probably has a farily laggy reputation.
He probably gets a fold from almost any ace beside AK AQ in this spot. So its probably a decent spot in reality. |
Re: Lapc- main event
Not much can be extracted from that hand description. I'm guessing ZJ just tried to big bluff an amateur calling station.
Jamie Gold is gone, as well, in under 90 minutes. Inconceivable! |

Where the hell is Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth? And Doyle? [/ QUOTE ] there's a twelve-player, $20,000 buy-in, short-hand, invitation-only Ladbrokes tournament taking place in London this week. Phil, Phil and Doyle are all invited, as are Chris Ferguson and Liz Lieu. Haven't heard any other names. I'm sure they're available if you Google for it. |
Re: Lapc- main event
Not to hijack the thread but I haven't heard about this 12-player thing happening in London (have tried Googling for it to no avail, doesn't seem to pop at any UK poker site either).
There's Premier League Poker as well. Busy week for some people then. |
Re: Lapc- main event
All I heard about the LAPC is that MrFeelnothin finishes day 2 with 40.5k in chips. 2p2ers need him to take this baby down
|
Re: Lapc- main event
i'm still in. 113,700 going into tomorrow. started day 2 with 61k, ran it down to 20k in an hour, and grinded it all day at a tight ass table.

Re: Lapc- main event
Michael Binger Eliminated By Jason Strasser
John Sacha raises to $4,500 from early position and Quinn Do makes the call. Michael Binger then raises to $20,500 from the button. In the big blind, Jason Strasser moves all in for $115,700. Both Sacha and Do fold but Binger calls all in for his last $112,500. Strasser shows QQ but Binger turns over AA. However, the board comes KQ839 and Strasser hits a set to win the pot and eliminate Binger from the tournament. |

Anyone that does not put JC Tran at the top of their "best NL Tournament players" list is a fool. He is scary good and I hope he wins this one. He is very intimidating at the table, but a super nice guy when you are not in a pot with him. Good luck JC.

Re: Lapc- main event
Weeee! WPT final table w/ basically even chips and super hi blinds w/ faster levels. What does that equal??? Crapshoot for millions of dollars. I hope and pray that J.C. pulls it out. Redemption is a year in the making here.
All you can do in these WPT tourneys is put urself in position to "roll the dice" at the end. So if he doesn't win...eh... can't get too upset. He'll be back again. How bout that Wasicka down the stretch making that big call for all his chips w/ A10 off vs. Bill Edler? Ballsy or WTF? |

While a lot of people are impressed by his play since the ME, he is still extremely underrated. If he can stay "hungry" and motivated, he will be an elite tournament player in the years to come. I think he had 750k behind after his initial raise. Which would have left him with the short stack at that point, but enough to play. Kind of a blow-up there for Edler, Q-J play. Then he stuck in his last 650k with 4-3o. He had plenty to wait a round or two and get in there. GO J.C! It's your turn. Should be a fun final. |
Re: Lapc- main event
[quoteKind of a blow-up there for Edler, Q-J play. Then he stuck in his last 650k with 4-3o. He had plenty to wait a round or two and get in there.
[/ QUOTE ] I don't agree with that. The QJ play from the blinds was somewhat standard and a play that lots of players do all the time. He's basically reading Paul as trying to steal the blinds and saying I'm not taking any of this [censored]. QJ is a fairly good hand to play back at Paul with. Paul would be making the button raise with a huge range of hands and most he would fold... AND there are only a few hands that he can have where Edler is in trouble. It turns out Paul made a somewhat loose call -- not bad, just a bit loose -- and Edler was not really in terrible shape at all. On the last push... well, he could wait for sure, but this could be the type of table where it just doesn't get limped that often to the button, and with the blinds that high he was running the risk that he really needs to catch a hand before his next blind or he will be pretty committed to win at showdown on his next blind. Why not take the chance that the blinds don't have a calling hand and even if they call his cards are probably live. |
Re: Lapc- main event
As much as he has a fabulous record here over the last four years, one can't help but think JC Tran would swap it just to win this event once.
It takes something special to get rid of him though! OI VEY! |
Re: Lapc- main event
Gotta love it, J.C. holds the chip lead since when, Day 3? Without relinquishing it one time. Then he loses the chip lead for one hand and done.
