Ok, so Turning Stone, the 18+ casino in upstate NY, is having a series of tournaments, a $300, $500, $1000, and a $200.

So far i think me, gobboboy, ajunglen, maybe ansky are going.

If anyone knows the best way to get there from Montreal (without a car) lemme know. I'd go if it wasn't too difficult.

If you haven't already, and have the cash, stay at The Lodge hotel. It is friggen gorgeous and totally empty in the winter. Bring some booze and hang by the fire counting your winnings.

just get a room at the towers there.. the poker rate is $70 a night, and it's a pretty freakin sweet room. 4 average sized people could share it. so little more than $15 a night, ,and it's right above the casino.

since it's tourney time, i jsut realize their rooms are going to be booked more. maybe poker rate won't be available.

Various poker playing relatives of mine (there's only two, and only one who I talk to anything resembling regularly) are making noises about going there, so I may go there. It more or less falls under the general scope of "that's too far away for me to actually make any plans."

lol I would love to. I'm already gonna be in Fla./Mexico for the last half of March.

You should come out to Vegas with us in May and play those WPT $500/$1000/$1500/$2000 events (May 4th-7th)

Perhaps, although I dont see myself paying 2K to play... so sats here I come. In May I am pretty likely packing up my life and driving cross country and stopping and moving whereever I like.

Cool man. We're all playing the $500, and then taking one shot in a satellite to the $1000. Other than that, we'll just be playing in a few of the bigger weekly tourneys, although I also heard that there's a circuit $200 event at the Mirage happening simulataneously to the WPT stuff, so a lot of mid-level buyin tourneys are happening that week.

What's the best place to fly into? And the best way to get there and the best place to stay? (What I'm trying to say is that I use my injury as an excuse to let other people do the work of planning.)

Seems like the best way to do fly in is through Syracuse airport and then take a cab/something else to TS, which is only like 40 miles away.

Oh god, I had planned on going to UFC 58 on march 3rd. But this trip would be so much easier on my bankroll, I think I'll put off Vegas and go to this instead.

I think we just need to get a list of interested folks then we could get the right amount of rooms. I want some 21+ single dudes that will get wasted and attempt to get some girls while we are there.

I'll be there for the Friday tourney. I'm playing in a tournament in Buffalo on Thursday and then making the trip to TS early Friday AM. Probably not staying over at all.

I think i'm going to trry and go on the 24th, and stay through all the events. just try and make as much as i can through all the satelites. one or two friends will be with me, but we can surely share a room with some more people (the rooms are big. can hold 5 without being too uncomfortable. could fit more if need to.

If anyone's gonna be around til Sunday, I'll probably drive up there for the $200+30 and play a double-up-or-bust-early style (the 15/30 game is usually juicy during big tourney time). Good luck with the qualifiers- TS structure dictates you need to get real lucky to win.

From what I have heard, at the casino itself there is literally no alcohol to be bought, at all.
