Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Just curious. Some rumors about UIGEA being reversed or suspended. I don't believe any of them but if it were......How many people would go back to Party or any other operation who abandoned the market when things got a little hot?
Do you just go back like nothing happened or do you stick with those operations who stood up and kept things going? Do you boycott those operations who abandoned the US market? |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I would grudgingly go back to Party. I would never use Neteller again under any circumstance.
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Put me in that category as well.
As much as Party was dogged (deservedly so) it had the softest and most plentiful games. As well as great PT and PAHUD support and support for playing tons of tables. I would play there again in a second. I will never use Neteller again for anything. After I get my 7.6K out of there (hopefully) I'd find some alternative way at Party (I used IGM pay there as well as Neteller) |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I would go out of my way to support companies that stuck with us, but that doesn't necessarily mean I would boycott those that bailed.
I'm not with you, and I am not with the terrorists. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
WTF, this is poker, not some hunger strike to protest world poverty.
[censored] "principle". You go wherever the fish are. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
If all things were equal I would not play at Party or any other site that left the market...Unfortunitly all things will not be equal...Party is a marketing giant it is what they do the best..The bonuses and incentive that will be thrown at us by those sites returning will be impossible to turn down...
My true anger is with the payment processors that have voluntarily left prior to the release of the regs or any indication of what those regs will be..I will boycot these even to my detriment... |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
all you guys who feel greatly wronged by party are absolute idiots. party is following the [censored] rules. how can you criticize them for this? the entitlement syndrome of some of you donks is ridicuolous.
partys rake increases, and monster promotion is far more egregious and hurtful to your bottom line. |

Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I would go where I made the most. I doubt it would be Party though. There were quite a few sites with much softer games than Party and offered RB as an added bonus.

Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I'm just so happy to hear that UGGA has been repealed and everything is back to normal!!
Go Bulldogs! |

Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I would be back at Party in a heatbeat. Jay do some advertising and build a player base and I'll come play with you.
Unlike your (privately held) company, Party had an obligation to its shareholders that they couldn't ignore. Looking at the site scout it seems they may have made the right move. I think if for some reason the law was changed they would be right back on top in the US. |

tho i dont blame neteller for what happened i would never go back. ill even go a step further and never use ANY online money holding service. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I don't understand where the anger against Party is coming from. Party didn't really screw anyone. They waited until the bill was signed into law by the President and then pulled out as was widely expected. Everyone had their money returned to them. It was nothing personal. Clearly, there was no pleasure in the decision as the move hurt Party as well. There's no reason to harbor any vengeance towards Party gaming IMO. They were the 1st to withdrawal but that is their right to do so.

Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
id go back in a [censored] heartbeat.
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I didn't vote because there's no option for "I was boycotting Party long before the UIGEA."
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I'm already playing there?
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I left Party long before Party left the US
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
No, everyone, please hate on Party, and whatever you do, do NOT return there if the bill is repealed. I, on the other hand, will take one for the team and go play in that sharkpool if the opportunity arises.
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I would go back to party immediately. I liked party for their fast and easy to use software, fast/easiest cashouts, and great games, and I don't blame them for leaving the US as I would have done the same in their position.
I will never use neteller again under any circumstances. I would quit online poker before giving them my business. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
i'd go back in a heartbeat. they are better at attracting bad players than the other sites.
i also think the way they handled leaving was decent all things considered. i didn't expect to have my monster tickets and freerolls added to my account balance, and they provided enough time for us to get our money out (my god i hate neteller). |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
It's not like they didn't want American business or anything. ;p I definitely would go for it.
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I'll go back to party as long as my win rate higher than stars and the rest.
remember this is all about making $. Not just 1 time choice. So my hoice will be work with party easier job make more $. Than the rest tough job less $. |

#1 Party have more Fish. ( Make more $)
#2 Party have 1-800 we can call. #3 Party is Public trade company. (more safe.) #4 Party left but have no problem refund customer $. #5 Party got bonus more often. Do the math... Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Jay Cohen,
The US Govt dropped Party, not the reverse. You think you deserve applause for keeping your site open after Oct 13th? I would be the 1st one to join Party if they came back. Party is the best poker room on the planet and they will be #1 again before year end. Don't bash PartyPoker because they are being responsible and knowing when to fold a losing hand. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Heck, I'd go back to my ex-girlfriend if the judge would lift the restraining order...wait, I've said too much.
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
I go to where the good games are
|
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Thinly veiled Party-bashing poll?
Jay, you know better than to try and drum up customers by bashing the competition. It's just bad business. If you want more business, offer the best overall product. If you want more 2+2ers, offer the most fish. If you want more fish, advertize better. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Interesting, I thought the poll would go this way, just not as strong.
I read this forum as someone who is very interested in this industry, not to solicit business or promote WSEX. The tag line on my name was put there by a mod who appreciated what I tried to do in my battle with the US. A scumbag? I don't think so. |
Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?
Important factor: will there still be unmentionable for us US players if we go back?

Re: Who here would go back to Party after they abandoned the market?

As soon as they put names back in the Hand Histories and stop pushing customers away..... [/ QUOTE ] How are they pushing customers away? WPX runs a positive sum game for poker players. WPX loses money on the poker room while Party, Stars, FTP, etc. pull hundreds of millions, if not billions, out of the poker economy, out of player's pockets. WPX is the only entity putting downward pressure on the substantial and nonsensical cost of playing poker online. None of the other sites compete on the basis of cost. Does anyone think that's a coincidence? Is there any reason why a 10 tourney costs a dollar and a $200 tourney costs $20 across the board at every site? Please explain how not allowing data mining and HUDs via WPX's hand history policy is greater handicap than pulling untold millions from the games annually? How is Jay Cohen getting criticized for running a loss leader which offers substantial benefit to the players who play at his site? |
