Phil Gordon is Gangsta
 

The mental picture of Gordon throwing his arms out had me chuckling. If this is already posted somewhere then feel free to lock and delete.

"Pokerlistings.com is doing live updates on the event, and here's a worthwhile one (especially for fans of Phil the Groundhog Part 2) from today. After losing a three-way allin to Barry Greenstein with A7 vs KJ, the following takes place:

As Gordon gets up to leave, he complains about the nature of his beat, and the normally reserved Erik Cajelais asks him, "why don't you just take your beat and leave?"

Gordon, flabbergasted, stops packing to stare down Cajelais. "What the f-what the hell is your problem?"

"Just take your beat and leave," says Cajelais. "You'll be fine."

"We'll meet again," says Gordon, again starting to leave.

"You don't go deep enough in tournaments," says Cajelais. "We'll never meet."

Now Gordon, obviously more than a little irritated by the beat and the French-Canadian, spreads his arms in a show of strength and tells Cajelais, "Any time you want to go, we'll go."

He walks out, still repeating "anytime," as Cajelais agrees with him, "Anytime." But Gordon vanishes into the night, and Cajelais sticks around to count his chips and relax, knowing there's probably a Day 2 in his future."

i think the story is funnier if youve ever met erik before. picturing the debacle has me laughing. im not sure who wins in a fight tho. id guess gordon if he can throw down since he has such a height advantage, but erik used to be a body builder.

erik's arms are much bigger than gordon's, but gordon obviously has a huge reach advantage. my feeling was that erik would have won the fight because he was the aggressor in the situation and would have wanted to back it up. also, i never took gordon to be much of a tough guy.

i've been curious as to whether anyone out there disagrees with this opinion, and i see here that no one does.
so phil, in case u ever read this thread, remember - NOBODY LIKES YOU. it doesnt matter how much money you have, some things you cant buy.

im watching old episode of poker after dark with all the tv announcers. i like everyone at the table [even konick] but i cant enjoy it cuz phil makes me want to PUKE every time he talks.

Phil Gordon is one of my favorite 'poker personalities'. Fairly smart, kinda amusing, makes mad money in business (or so i assume).

cajeleis is awesome

i got to play with him the entire day 1 of the last foxwoods event and he was a complete pleasure to be around- and an awesome player.


that being said- he would COMPLETELY demolish phil gordon in any physical confrontation- he struck me as a stocky little badass.


ps- his girl's pic on his cellphone was v impressive- she was a piece.

1. neither really matters in a street fight...jabs aren't thrown for very long.

if this were a random person, i'd say gordon should watch who he mouths off to. if he knows this erik character, then he obviously feels good enough about his chances...

i believe i've said this before...phil gordon could be 9 feet tall, and i doubt i'd take any [censored] from him...he's the type of guy that has used his height to stay out of fights his whole life...

he's a lot closer to 6'5" than 6'9" unless he's one of those dudes that never stands anywhere close to straight, and even then i don't think he's 6'9"

Gordon does whine alot. That being said, cajeleis should have minded his own buisness and kept his mouth shut. Never met the guy but he sounds like a punk. Too many people get away with [censored] talking in poker. Had he said that to me we would have met outside on his next break. Im 5'8 155. any high stakes BBVers want to put up some cash for me to fight them. I can be at the LAPC in an hour and a half.

Cliffnotes: Gordons a pus-sy. Cajeleis is a punk. I'd kick both there asses.

He did a free bar lecture a while back in DC, with Chris Ferguson and was really a nice guy. Had a good converstation with him after and he actually talked for a bit. I was honestly impressed. And I did score not one, but two hugs off him and Jesus.

I am about 6'3", so he is at least 6'5".

He is really cool from what I have seen of him. He has a temper yeah, but he is my favorite player as a person.

He should have. I'm not Phil Gordon fan but EVERYONE has had several bad beats and EVERYONE has whined about it at least once. Let him whine and leave. Only a d-bag would rub it it.

Those of you who are comparing weight and height when it comes to fighting ability have little if any comprehension of fighting. Someone who is thin and 6'9" (Gordon is 6'7" tops) can take out an angry fat f fairly easily. I've seen some badass yuppies so I wouldn't automatically rule Gordon out.
