Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
First thing is this - I haven't been playing NEARLY as much. Every time I win a big pot, I think, I wonder if I'll ever see this money, and that's not the thought that online poker sites want me thinking if they have any business sense whatsoever.
Main point: FT at least is taking steps to fight the powers that be, which would hopefully result in a written exemption from the regulations that are killing us right now. (I saw only one other post about the exact nature of the steps they took and it appeared to be locked, so I won't mention them). Anyway, I just wanted to say that I'm at least a little encouraged at the semi clever way FT is scrounging up funds to fight the government on this one, however slim you may think the chances are. |

Party poker did this first, look where they are now.

You know nothing, I know nothing.

Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
They will never roll over and die. I hope you understand why.

Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
The PPA is not your friend. A carveout for poker is not in our longterm interests.
It acknowledges that the federal government has the right to regulate activity on the internet, it undercuts any site that has a casino/sportsbook connection, and it does nothing to solve or stop the attack on payment processors. Just because someone says they're your friend, doesn't make it so. The PPA and now FT are not fighting the Feds. They are helping them criminilize online gambling, and begging for scraps off the table. |

Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
you people are all losing your minds. first off FTP is here to stay. Wll they fix there problems? YES! Will you recieve you checks? YES! IS it good that it is taking this long to get our money? NO!! IS it hurting their business? YES!! DO they want to lose millions of dollars in rake? NO!! Come on NOW, they are obviously here to stay. They are completely wrong with the check issue but I give them about 2 weeks to find a new processor. After that they are basically going to lose majority of their business. They got a bad processor and need a new one that can handle the volume they have.....

Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
O8king - We've been getting the runaround on checks for a month now. Why is two more weeks OK? Will you give them two more weeks after that?

[/ QUOTE ] By confiscating funds from players that trigger any sort of security audit? That's not so clever. Unreputable sites have been doing it for years. |
Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
It amazes me you guys just keep bashin this company... Have you ever thought maybe what some of these OP's are telling us not exactly the truth?
I havent had any problems with their new processor, I have never had a problem with their customer service... I go there play and leave when I'm done. I never ever have problems... I hope FTP sticks around, and if some of you guys don't like the site don't play there...Simple as that. |

Have you ever considered the fact that the OP's could be telling the truth? Don't worry. As long as you don't play headsup, from a publicly shared IP, your neighbors don't hijack your IP, go on tilt and dump your roll, or go on a hotstreak...you'll be just fine. The problem with FTP's willy-nilly security is that people like me learn to not play there. People who are in the know and innocent will probably get their money back. But what about the rec player who gets his $100 frozen? How many "online poker is rigged and full of crooks" conversations is he going to have at work before he gets his money returned (if ever). Those aren't going to be FTP specific conversations. FTP's shadow falls across the entire industry. |
Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
ur kidding right --give them a chance to get a processor to handle the volume i am waiting too. yes i will give them about 9 days from now if nothing====then i will get on their case non stop!
|
Re: Slightly encouraged by FT\'s efforts
No, I'm not kidding.
I was there 9 days ago. Now I'm a raving loon. I'm seriously pissed. |
