Re: obscure facts you didnt know
There was another famous/semi-famous person in the pickup basketball game in which Pistol Pete Maravich dropped dead. Dr. James Dobson, right-wing nutjob and head of Focus on the Family was playing also. Wow, did the wrong person ever drop dead there.

It's well known that Jimmy Hoffa was last seen alive in the parking lot of a Detroit restaurant in 1975. What's less well known and rarely mentioned is the -name- of that restaurant. Machu's Red Fox.

Right, so if I drink 1.1 litres of water .1 litres instantly comes shooting out of little mosdef. [/ QUOTE ] No, but you didn't guzzle the entire 1.1 liters all in one shot either. Non-dairy liquids go through the stomach pretty fast. The moment the first drop lands down there it's being processed out. Even most foods are through your stomach in an hour or less. By the time you get to the end of that first liter, half of it has already left your stomach. |

Has anybody noticed that in threads like this (and in this thread about quotes/aphorisms that have helped your life someway ) that there is always a recently new poster who will just spew out a list that is obviously copied/pasted from a website, thinking that he's being smart or helping everybody out by massing them altogether?

anyone who reads that knows i copied and pasted it from an email [censored]. i wasn't trying to pawn it off as my own stuff [/ QUOTE ] I couldn't care less if you tried to pawn it off as your own stuff. What makes threads like these interesting though is when people come in, give an example or two of some obscure fact they didn't know, and then everybody else can come back and mock them for not knowing it. Seriously though, it bothered me alot more in the other thread, I just happened to look at this one second, and felt the need to post after looking at this one. In a thread like this what you did isn't so bad, but in the quotes thread in the El D forum, what makes that thread interesting is the way that people give a quote that's helped them, and then give a bit of background as to how/why it pertains to their life. Just giving off a huge list doesn't do that, and it just looks bad IMO. So my apologies if I sounded like a douchebag in my first comment, I really was just making an observation about the way newcomers might post before they get the feel of the place. |
