***Official*** LOST Season 3 Episode 7 Discussion -spoiler free-

Alright guys, we’re back with sixteen straight episodes!!!!! No one was happy about the massive break after only 6 episodes, but I think 16 uninterrupted weeks of new material will be worth it.

I posted this an hour before usual because before LOST they are showing “The LOST Survival Guide”.

“Hosts Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, the executive producers of LOST, will provide an insightful glimpse into the lives of some of the survivors of the doomed Oceanic Airlines flight 815.”

This could be really interesting/enlightening/candid, or it could be a lame-ass ‘recap’ show with no new insights (which is probably more likely, but we’ll hope for the best).

Quick Recap **Spoilers if you are not caught up through tonights episode**

The Others Camp

1.) Jack, Kate and Sawyer have been prisoners in the Others’ Camp. Jack has been interrogated while Kate and Sawyer were kept in cages and used for labor. All of them have been the subjects of experiments/tests apparently with no other purpose than to break them down mentally.

2.) Ben has told Jack that if he does what he asks “when the time comes” he can return him to civilization. This assumes that the others not only have contact with the outside world, but can return and choose not to.

3.) Subsequently, Jack was asked to remove a very advanced spinal tumor from Ben. For unknown reasons, Juliette secretly asked him to kill Ben “accidently” during the operation.

4.) Kate and Sawyer had hot monkey sex.

5.) During the operation, Jack has made a small incision that will kill Ben unless he mends it quickly. He is using this as leverage, demanding that The Others free Sawyer and Kate.

6.) Ben revealed to Sawyer that the island they are on now is seperate from the island that they crashed on (and the island the other surviviors are on). This means that Jacks plan is fundamentally flawed…

The Survivors Camp

1.) According to Desmond, the button was in place to periodically expel electromagnetic energy that builds up in the island. He also claimed that the plane crash was the result of him not pushing the button. When Locke refused to push it at the end of season 2, Desmond was forced to go under the hatch to flip a switch that would destroy the hatch (and everyone in it) as it expelled the energy. Locke, Ecko and Desmond were in the hatch when he pulled the switch.

2.) Charlie was present for all of this, yet when he escaped back to the camp seemed to have no recollection of the events.

3.) After the hatch “imploded” Locke, Desmond and Ecko all woke up elsewhere on the island. After the incident Locke has been led by visions of Boone, Desmond has been led by visions of the future and Ecko by visions of his brother

4.) Sun, Jin and Sayiid lost Desmonds sailboat to the others, in the process Sun shot and killed a woman.

5.) Desmonds ex, the daughter of Charles Windmere, has located the island via the electromagnetic pulse.

6.) Following visions of his brother, Ecko went into the jungle where he was killed by the black smoke.

7.) From within the Pearl, Locke and the others have picked up a surveillance feed from another station housing a man with an eyepatch.
