Which judge wins dunk contest (in their prime?)

Wow...looking at the judge's list for the NBA dunk contest, that'd be a competition I'd like to see, though apparently Howard is going to kiss the rim and maybe pull something off the top of the backboard and Green is pretty awesome. Regardless, the judges list...who, in their prime, would win the dunk contest?

yeah, we have zero video evidence of these guys competing in a dunk contest.

There's an error in this thread because Darryl Dawkins isn't one of the choices.

Hmmm... I'm tempted to go with William Jennings Bryan, but I'll take Earl Warren.

Dominique in his prime would have been able to do any dunk he was shown, only with 6 more inches of air.

They weren't as creative back then, but Nique shouldn't be overlooked.

You're an idiot. The correct answer is Byron "Whizzer" White.

Talk about idiots. You're both picking white guys in a dunk contest.

I agree with Mike... if 'Nique knew about some of these crazy dunks, he could probably give Vince a run for his money.

Pretty soon Gerald Green will be the gold standard for dunk contests.

Yeah, my first instinct was to say Thurgood Marshall, but Byron White is clearly the correct answer. He's probably the best athlete ever to serve in any branch of the federal government, with the possible exception of Steve Largent. From Wiki:

[ QUOTE ]
White was a star football player for the University of Colorado Buffaloes, where he acquired the nickname "Whizzer", which he later came to despise. After graduation he signed with the NFL's Pittsburgh Pirates (now Steelers), playing there during the 1938 season. He took 1939 off to study at Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, but returned to play for the Detroit Lions from 1940-41. In three NFL seasons, he played in 33 games. He led the league in rushing yards in 1938 and 1940. His career was cut short when he entered the United States Navy during World War II; after the war, he elected to attend law school rather than returning to football. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1954.

[/ QUOTE ]

Basically, he was the best football player in the country before becoming a Supreme Court Justice.

Re: Which judge wins dunk contest (in their prime?)

If I had to put them in order:

Nique
Vince
Jordan
Dr. J
Kobe

The sickest dunk I've ever seen in an nba game was by Nique. The ball bounced off the rim after a missed shot, and Koncak and 1 or 2 other 7 footers on the other team were in position under the basket and jumped up to fight for the rebound. Nique then comes flying over the top of all of them without going over the back and throws it down one handed while these 7 footers are in front of and under him. It's on all of the old dunk highlight videos.

Re: Which judge wins dunk contest (in their prime?)

Nique is the greatest dunker of all time, and as good as all these other guys are, I don't really think it's close.
