***February Study Buddy Thread***

Part of improving is posting hands here and getting feedback. Another component of that effort is getting to know a fellow poster or two very well and each reviewing complete sessions or far more than just key hands here/there.

If you are interested in participating, please post the following:

Stakes you currently are playing
Highest stakes you have played
Hands per month played
Frequency you can review (every few days, weekly, etc)

Add any comments you feel would be helpful

Are you guys kidding me? 10k+ hands a month? I play 2K hands a month and my wife bitches up a storm about how I ignore her and how she feels left out of my life.

It would take a major lyfestyle adjustment just to double the number of hands I play a month, and even then I wouldn't even aproach 10k/month. And some of you guys are playing WAY over that...

Am I just spinning my wheels? Do I have no chance of reaching my poker goals? Should I just burn my poker books?

Very disheartened....

I'm in, but can't play any poker this month for similar reasons to Phydaux.

Play 200NL
Highest Played 600NL, but no more than a few sessions.
Hands: 20k

Can review: Weekly - don't think there's much point in doing more than this, but when I do it I will do it properly. I want someone who will do the same.

I would give it a shot.

Stakes: 1/2...some .5/1 for the moment
Highest: 2/5, little 5/10
Hands: Hopefully around 20k? I don't know - never played full time b4.
Review: Every few days - weekly

This may be overkill but I guess you should know who youre studying w/ right?

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n...rb/frstats.jpg

These are my FR results since Oct. I had a full time job so couldn't play much, although I did play some 6 max and HU too.

I just moved down to the Caribbean w/ the gf. While she goes to Vet school I'm going to be playing poker for $$$. I didn't play much at all in Dec or Jan and am looking forward to getting in a lot of hands this month.

I'm still not decided whether I want to focus in FR or 6 max but for now I'm trying FR. Looking forward to reviewing with some of you.

Edit: NO NITS!!!

Stakes you currently are playing: 25NL online, 1/2 & 2/5NL live

Highest stakes you have played: 100NL online & 5/10NL live

Hands per month played: @ 5k or so. It varies. Mostly a live player, but trying to get into online more

Frequency you can review (every few days, weekly, etc): Weekly

Willing to chat over AIM/Yahoo as well. Kind of an odd schedule, though, as I work nights. So 1am cst to 4am cst are my normal free hours.

Re: ***February Study Buddy Thread***

I am a primarily 6-max player looking to play full ring a lot more. That being said:

I used to play 50NL and currently play 25NL.
Anywhere between 20k and 30k hands depending on how much homework I'm getting.
I can probably review 2-3 times a week and am definitely up for chatting over AIM as well, although again it will partially depend on workload.

Re: ***February Study Buddy Thread***

-I'm playing .25/.50 but moving up to .5/1 soon as my $650 FPP bonus clears (next few days).

-I've played 2/5 live (crushed it sir) and I've played 3/6 on my father's account, but not much experience above 1/2 online.

-I've only been playing seriously since november, and I played the most hands I've ever played last month, 50k hands.

-I can review hands all the time (I have classes 3 days a week, but only Monday is really busy)

I'd be interested in this as well

Right now im playing 100NL making the transition into 200NL. 200NL is the highest stakes ive played.
I plan on playing at least 35k hands this month.
I can review hands every few days - weekly

Re: ***February Study Buddy Thread***

I'm down for this. I've only been 6 tabling for about a month after a while of 2-3 tabling and just playing all over the place. Right now I'm trying to decide the best way to build my roll. I've been doing some shortstacking quite effectively at higher limits than I normally play, but also play deep if I get deep on any of those tables.

Current Stakes: NL200; Shortstacking NL400-NL1k
Highest Stakes Played: NL1k
Hands/Month: 30k (last month, but thats about what I expect again)
Frequency of Review: Every few days if its short, once a week if we're looking at 45 min+.

I'm in.

Stakes you currently are playing: 25NL and 50NL
Highest stakes you have played: 100NL (Until Neteller Crapped out and left me with insufficient roll to play 100NL)
Hands per month played: 10K

Might I suggest that we add site most frequented and try to match up people that play mostly at PS with people that play mostly at Full Tilt or whatever so that we are not reviewing hands (and therefore helping) people that we play against every day.

For me: Full Tilt
Frequency you can review (every few days, weekly, etc): Weekly

I want in too.

Stakes: NL 50. been here since start of winter break. Put in 20k hands during winter break but only winning by less than 1BB. rakeback is my friend.

Highest stake: Was playing up to 5/10 limit online before recently switching to NL. For NL I've only played NL25, and 50 online. Still getting used to it.

Amount of hands per month: anywhere from 5k ~20k

Frequency you can review: Weekly

Thanks.

(I started NL with 19/10/2, now I'm at 14/10/4 but i'm winning more now. Help me to stop being a nit!)

btw. I cashed out my whole roll before switching to NL and now I'm stuck with only 1k on UB.

Highest stakes you have played - 5/10NL live and 400NL 6max online

Site I play - splitting time between FTP and Stars at the moment.

I am new to No Limit and have been playing No Limit for about 3 months and have played limit for a number of years.

I am currnetly playing at .05-.10/.10-.25 on line but have been playing live $1-2 with 100-300 buy in.

I play around 5-10K hands a month.

I can review hands 7 days a week but.... probably wouldnt want to do that. I would say 4 days a week any ways -- I am retired so free time is easy

I'll be up for this

Playing 25NL to 100NL at the moment
highest is 100NL
I play ~ 80k hands, though aiming for more this month
I would be able to reveiwe every day, but prob best to do weekly. I could do a few hands a day, but not session reviews

Comments: This is my only source of income at the mo, which is why i have differing levels depending on current bankroll. Also i'm European, but stay up later than most(5am here~midnight EST) so would like someone who would be around when i am. Also i play tourneys too, though obv won'tbe using them for review.

Re: ***February Study Buddy Thread***

Just so I don't get driven crazy trying to pair people up, I'll leave it to individuals to PM others to set things up.

Try and pick buddies who are at your same level (give/take) and who are willing to look at hands/sessions at the same frequency. You may want to discuss things over PM or AIM.

This isn't marriage or anything, so don't worry if it doesn't work. Still, choosing wisely ups the chances you'll find a solid partner to help learn the game better and grow with ya.

I'll toss my hat in too.

Stakes you currently are playing: $50NL; $100NL
Highest stakes you have played: $400 NL
Hands per month played: 10-20k at the moment
Frequency you can review (every few days, weekly, etc): Weekly

Fairly busy between work/grad school/forum modding/etc, but happy to review things once a week (weekends in all liklihood). I prefer reviewing sessions, rather than individual hands but can do both.

only difference is I only play 50NL for the time being because I feel like 25NL is a waste of time right now.

And I only just got myself a second screen so trying to play more than 4 tables (I try to play 6 for now)

I feel like I still have A LOT to learn but Im good enough to beat 50NL right now.

PM if interested (I prefer someone thats playing cash on stars or FT. Since Im not playing there.)

Id like to participate.

I only play 2NL and 5NL hoping to hit 10 and 25 soon.

I just started playing 4-5 tables at once so 5k hands per month should be no problem.

Highest I have ever played is 10NL

Not sure if anyone would want me to review a session due to my lack of experience but send me a pm if your interested. If you would like to review my session give me a shout.

I could review a session once per week. Any more than that and Mrs. Checkmate will probably not be pleased.

I am definitely interested in this. Here's my info:

Stakes currently playing: mostly $50NL, a little bit of $100 (I've been thinking of moving up, but a -7 buy-in weekend at the end of Jan. has slowed me down a little)

Highest stakes I've played online: $100NL

Hands played per month: 10-12k is my average

Frequency you can review: weekly

Not sure how many of you are already paired up, if no one PMs me by Monday then I'll just start accousting people at random.

Re: ***February Study Buddy Thread***

Stakes you currently are playing: 1/2 & 2/4

Highest stakes you have played: 5/10 (RIP Party Poker) My Bread & Butter

Hands per month played: 50K+

Frequency you can review (every few days, weekly, etc): 2/3 Days/ Week

After the collapse of Party Poker, I wasn't able to find a niche in any of the many full ring games across the net. I realize the Party Poker games were often giveways, but I was certain I could adapt to another game. 5/10 on Stars had a few too many squeezers to my liking. Currently: Grinding on Poker.com.

Studies have shown that smokers are much better fellators (fellatrixes?) than non-smokers. You may want to widen your range.
