Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
you should I don't either and just had a similar hand happen to me in a 180 where I took the same line on a 1010xx board.

Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
I hate this. The min checkraise is way to often the "this'll trap him" and your draw beyond sucks and doesn't really have that much FE. Any idea what he min raises with?
This is why i always take the specific note of when a player min raises pre/post flop and whether it was a monster or not. |
Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
TTxx Shaun. TTxx.
-- and yea, idon't shove all in here with the T high. i dont think villain looks especially weak. |
Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
sorry if my post was confusing 1010x flop x turn no FD I shover over his turn c/r with KJo. I generaly think people are FOS when they take the obv line that people used to take in cash games in a tourney. But more often its the good than the the 3bet shove will work.

Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
bad play by you IMO (in the absence of a specific read). do you assume hes bluffing? why?
i think he's rarely bluffing. you still have a chance because he might fold a queen or a medium pp, but man, i wouldn't bet my tournament on it |

He could have a flush I suppose, but I would expect him to think for a second about whether he should just call, or what amount to raise to. |

Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
IMO, you played every street incorrectly:
Preflop: I fold this garbage. You have a decent stack, and the blinds are small. I see no need to get involved here. Flop: Why did you elect to check from behind? Since you chose to raise with your garbage before the flop, you need to follow-through when your opponent checks and the flop looks like it missed. Turn: I have no idea why you shoved, after the villain's check-min-raise. The min-raise is solely read-dependent; some players do it with the nuts, while others do it with middle pair or draws, etc. Others do it with all of their hands, so it doesn't tell you anything. |

Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
From my experience, the minraise in spots like this has usually meant a strong hand.

Re: should i respect this mini checkraise?
It's impossible to advise here because so much depends on timing and reads and the buyin and site but where I play, villain is FOS (in the sense that he doesn't have hearts or a boat) a substantial majority of the time here. However, your problem is that that doesn't mean he won't make a crying call with a better hand anyway.
