I may be remembering incorrectly, but doesnt DN's long awaited book come out in a few weeks? havent heard much about it at all. Anyone have any info?

From my interview with Mr. Negreanu previously published in Two Plus Two Internet Magazine.

deacsoft: The word has been out for a while now that you have a book in the works. Can you tell us a little about it?

Daniel Negreanu: I plan on writing a few books actually, but the first one will cover hold'em only. The meat of the book will be my finishing chapter. That chapter will go into great detail on how to play "small ball". “Small ball” is an approach that is used amongst virtually every successful tournament player out there today. The theme behind it is simple: how to accumulate a large stack of chips without taking any big risks.

deacsoft: It has been said that other authors will have a hand in writing it. Can you give us an idea of who those other authors are?

Daniel Negreanu: There will be specific chapters regarding a wide variety of aspects to hold'em. Todd Brunson, for example, will be covering no limit hold'em cash game strategy, while Carlos Mortensen will discuss Bluffing. Also contributing chapters will be the likes of Evelyn Ng, Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Tuan Le, David Williams, Josh Arieh, and Erick Lindgren.

Wow, sounds like its gonna be quite a read. If it actually does ship on 2/6 like amazon says, I'm REALLY stoked.

That was another book of his which is in stores now. It is a much smaller book and is geared for beginners. The new book is over 600 pages and I believe is truly going to be a great book. At least I hope so.

You are wrong wetleg! I am talking about "Daniel Negreanu's Power Hold'em Strategy" and NOT his beginner book "Hold'em Wisdom for all Players: Simple and Easy Strategies to Win Money".On amazon it says January 8, 2008.Please check next time before posting.

Sure it's possible. With that many authors involved in the project and the topics they wish to write about this would not be a quick or easy book to finish.

While it does say January 8, 2008, it use to say February, 2007. (It's my job to be aware of these things.) It also says that the book is not yet released.

Well, it is a Cardoza book. Wouldn't be suprised if it got delayed a year or more just like Johnny Chan's book did. Cardoza really sucks when it comes to reporting and meeting release dates.

barnes and noble online lists it for Feb. something 07, I called my local store and had them reserve me a copy when it releases. Probably just a typo on amazon. Amazon.uk also lists it as 07.

I'm excited. I think i'm just starting to figure out this small ball stuff and am primed for a real detailed breakdown so I don't have to figure out all the finer points on my own. Results have been good so far.

Cardoza's website (www.cardozapub.com) has absolutely no mention of the book. If it were going to be released anytime soon I'm sure they'd advertise it on their website. Looks like we're going to have to wait until 2008.

I've got two sources saying it comes out in three weeks and two sources saying it comes out in 12 months.

I have a hard time believing it will be next year. By then, poker book sales will probably have declined by over 50 percent, if not more. With the impending doom of internet poker in the US, it's inevitible. If Daniel is planning to make some serious money on this book, he'd better rush it out.

And it seems like I read something about three books from Daniel. Maybe we're mixing them up. I dunno, i'm confused but i'll be pretty annoyed if it is next year.

Sounds an awful lot like his Stacked video game...its release was delayed only about 8 different times.

I am about to finish the first of Daniels book, I knew it looked pretty beginner, which it is, but I still wanted to read it for a refresher and to get a taste of Daniel.

I am talking about Holdem Wisdom for all players, I have Power Holdem on preorder and from what I know it should be coming out in the next couple of weeks.

Wow, I just looked at the updated ship date, it went from Feb 8th 2007 to Jan 8th 2008. Hahahaha wasnt this book supposed to come out almost a year ago?

The book will come out its not like Raymers book or something that just never happened.
He already released his first book, I just think hes busy and isnt pushing it as hard as he should especially since he has other players writing parts of the book. Considering he arleady released his first book, that gives me hopes.

Upon reviewing this excerpt from Full Contact Poker it seems to me that the book is unlikely to be released on 2/6/07. The heading to Daniel's post says, quote:

"An Excerpt From My Book, A small taste of the book I'm working on."

The fact that he's "working on" it leads me to believe we can't expect it this coming Tuesday. If it were ready to be sold in the next four days I imagine they'd already have it printed and such, so I think we'll likely have to wait til next year.

However, having inferred all that, I did speak to my local Barnes and Noble and Borders stores and both their systems have 2/6 as the scheduled release date. You always can count on Cardoza for reliable inconsistency.

As for a realistic date, my goal is to have it out prior to the WSOP. Once I'm finished writing my chapter (the meat of the book), I'll have to go over what the others have written to make sure it fits well with the book. We have an accomplished list of contributers covering various aspects of no limit hold'em. This book, when finished, will be the absolute best training guide to winning deep stack tournaments. I genuinely believe that.

Well hopefully it will come out eventually, i was hoping that his book would be geared also towards cash games but it seems its supposed to be focused towards tournaments from what he said above.
