The end of reload bonuses and the beginning of somethign better?
With the new hoops to jump to get money on and off of sites, maybe sites will change reload bonuses and replace them with Play Bonuses?
Bodog particularlly...if a player needs more money to clear a bonus, they will find a way to get money...maybe they will borrow it from a friend who still has access to Neteller from outside the USA. I sure hope that even more poker sites make arrangements to allow player to player transfers. Bodog and Microgaming/Prima are the two major networks that would benefit from this. Tribeca will likely not matter, since they will be joining Playtech/CDPoker in the NonUS player ranks. I know that Microgaming has the ability to do transfers...at least the sites that have sportsbooks can do it. Funny that the laws that the USA pretends are to stop money laundering may actually increase it. |

"the beginning of something better"
I would not describe the last couple days, nor the days to come, with the above phrase. |

Well I am hoping Stars is trying to come up with a new e-wallet option and then introduce it with a nice reload bonus. That would a) keep people around and b) show people they still have options to move money in and out.

[/ QUOTE ]Agreed. But honestly,it seems funny to me the reaction to Neteller leaving. This was inevitable, they flat out said they were leaving!!! It happened sooner than later and in a different scenario than expected for sure, but this bridge needed to be passed eithor now or later.Alot of us left Neteller months ago for this reason. |
Re: The end of reload bonuses and the beginning of somethign better?
I dont see play bonuses replacing deposit bonuses. These site need money flowing in. IMO, the sites expected neteller to leave, but not citadel, centralcoin, instadebet, etc. all at the same time.
I agree with NoChance, a new or lesser known ewallet gets Stars backing and offers large deposit bonuses for using them. Our governement will never learm that money flows downhill. As long as a majority of the people want marijuana or internet poker or anything else, someone will provide the service. We will probably waste billions in tax dollars on this and they will be as successful at banning internet gambling as they were at banning alcohol or marijuana. Hopefully this will just cost money. The alcohol and drug wars also cost many young lives. |

Re: The end of reload bonuses and the beginning of somethign better?
if people need to have money online to play off a bonus they will make a deposit...so the bonuses will get more money online but not remind people that they have to reload...and save the sites lots of money on useless transaction fees.

Re: The end of reload bonuses and the beginning of somethign better?
well, even bad players run good sometimes...the way it is, everyone has to generate a fee everytime they want a bonus. the way i propose, people could transfer money from friends, or win to work off play bonuses. either of these will save fees and allow some people to play even if they have a hard time depositing.
remember party poker allowed affiliates to fund an account for people and trigger the bonus...that was incredibly successful. i am just suggesting expanding that method. |
Re: The end of reload bonuses and the beginning of somethign better?
The bottom line is.....bad players get broke fast and often. They need an easy way to get money back in. All of the people spending all the time to figure out a way around the mess is great.....for the players you don't make money off of to buy in and cash out. It is very unlikely that the players you really make the money off of will worry about any of this any longer. They will in all probability just take their business to homegames, underground games, and casinos. We have all seen what has happened to the quality of games over the past few months, it is only going to get worse. Bottom line....yes there will be ways around what has happened. The question is........will it be worth it? I, of course don't have the answer, but am inclined to say goodbye to internet poker for me.
