Neteller bows out Permanently from U.S

Neteller announcement

US member update

Effective Immediately

Due to recent US legislative changes and events, effective immediately, US members are no longer able to transfer funds to or from any online gambling sites.

All US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account to safely transfer funds to and from non-gambling merchants and are not required to close their account or withdraw their funds.

Please note that we are experiencing higher than normal support volumes and recommend that you read the FAQs for more information.

So, do we need to wait for sites to allow us to cash out via another method? (Like Stars, for example, requires you to withdraw via the deposit method).

The more I think about it the less I think that is the case. Since I started playing in the 90s I have had my credit cards shut off and paypal shut off. This really doesn't seem any different. No need to panic at all.

I feel like there isnt a need to panic. I plan on wiring money in and out and accepting the charges. Or wiring the money in and using western union to get it out. Or am I just dreaming here?

It sucks for sure but I try to put the whole thing in perspective. When I started playing there was no infrastructure and there was only Paradise and whatever that crappy site Caro was associated with. There was no regulation and huge concerns with fraud. The industry is still miles ahead of those days. We will kept betting sports and playing poker.

Thats it. damnit. I couldnt remember it God their software sucked and they were the dumbest company ever. They literally said no thanks to a billion dollars. I remember players were telling them that they wanted to keep playing there but to make changes the players wanted. Caro and Planet said everything was fine and that they must be doing things right because their base was growing. They were too stupid to realize they were riding a wave and that the competition was about to crunch them.

Re: Neteller bows out Permanently from U.S

no...it means that some new financial alternative will develop for deposits and withdrawals

the following have been the main method at one time or point since '97 IIRC

western union
credit cards
paypal
firepay
citadel
neteller

after one bans US gambling,
another one always pops up as the main method within a few months

Crapbuckets.
Monies are listed as accepted on Neteller, but haven't shown up at my bank. Still have a fair chunk of cash on multiple sites.

There are going to be a choruses of "I told you so" if this goes south.

Also, I don't know how I'm going to pay for the freaking car I ordered.

don't knock it until you tried it, we found out the hard way pinny wasn't b.s'ing when they said they had each individual punter's funds available in an escrow account didn't we?

their credit rating just went through the roof w/me personally b/c of that, one of the reasons why i'm so desperate to get back in..

Re: Neteller bows out Permanently from U.S

trixtrix,

I wouldn't count of that personally. I would like to imagine a voluntary exit would be preceded by some semblance of financial solvency. Though voluntary exit and paying everyone seems very solid, not that I had questions before. Now though they have validated their trust.

Imagine how much more awesome it'd be to just seize monies, fold shop and live on your 300mil yacht.

Is there a window where we can still withdraw from other sites to neteller, like we had with Firepay when they withdrew from the US market?

No and even if you could you don't want to. Getting money out of Neteller is harder than getting it out of the sites right now.

If you thought your Neteller points were worth nothing now, just wait to see how many entries there are for $500 this week.

Unfortunately I spent all my points on Monday

actually the more optimal play is to wait 2 weeks until there's no one left participating in those drawings and THEN cashin all your pts
