Gold is on day 2, so we won't be seeing him for several weeks.

HSP really has illustrated how much the top of poker world itself has transformed in the past 2 years.

If I was asked to give a personal ranking of the 5 best NL players (more specifically, who I think people would expect to win the most on HSP if an infinite amount of hands were played with the HSP lineup), three were complete unknowns in mid 2005 (Patrik Antonius, Brad Booth, Brian Townsend).

Does anyone know if they're going to release DVD's of the seasons? Or does anyone have any DVD's recorded from S1 and S2 (and presumably S3 once it's aired?)?

If so, IM me... I'll send a few bucks for them. I'd like to watch the earlier seasons again.

A previous post was incorrect. Jamie Gold does play tonight. The other player not named is Shawn Sheikhan, so "Sheiky" and "The Mouth" are also both at this table. Ramdin arrives a little late, but he is playing.

If so, please do whatever you can to keep Sheikhan off the television set, and particularly this fine show. It is just too good of a program to be besmirched by the powerful douchebaggery of that retarded asshat.

I was told that I was going to be on the first episode. I hope they air the table from the first day (ivey, patrick, benyamine, etc.) but I think they are going to air the table with (farha, harmen, lindgren etc). I think I played better on the stong table.

Worst call ever by Sheikhan with those 7's to a reraise by Matusow. I'm sitting here going "OK, the flop will come, Matusow will raise no matter what it is, and unless Sheikhan sucks out trips, he's going to fold, even if it's a perfect flop for his 7's."

And what a shocker, that's what happened.

His weak-tight, pathetic style is such that he doesn't have the sack to fire a bullet if he doesn't hit his trips and will lay it down to any raise no matter what comes.

Whenever he gets smallish pocket pairs, he may as well just fold them if he can't limp with them. He doesn't have the balls to play them.

Yup. I also loved his full house hand against Brunson. He's so freaking easy to read (To be fair I can see his hand so maybe I'm exageratting). When Gold made the agonized call on the turn Doyle clearly knew he was drawing thin to dead.

I love Matusow's comment about how poker's boring when you're not constantly getting monster hands. Almost made me like him.

Pretty tame episode, I thought. Nothing happened pretty much at all, except Doyle as usual is the BOSS! I guess that's no surprise as probably no one wants to go broke so early in the show.

They really need to make this a 2 hour show. What's wrong with these people?

I think they decided to air Day 2 first, which is disappointing... looks like we're going to have to wait a long while for aba, Ivey, Patrik, etc.

BTW, I wasn't incorrect in saying Jamie Gold was on day 2. I'm almost positive today's episode was from day 2.

I think Gabe was well aware of Gold's true reputation in poker because he seemed to be eager to say less than favorable things about Gold's play. And he was quick to point out Matusow's comments about Gold getting hit with the deck during WSOP2006. Overall Gold seemed to play a ton of hands but he did have a fair number of decent starting hands. Matusow played pretty well during the first episode.

I tuned in an hour late, so I'm getting to watch blackjack instead. "I'd like to use the Burger King Power Chip, please!" Can I get one of those for poker?

I've never watched HSP, except that AA v. KK hand at the end tonight. They're playing a cash game, right?, so are all the chips on the table standard Golden Nugget chips? It looked like I saw black $100 and purple $500, but I didn't get much chance to study it. (But now that I look here, I guess that explains why I couldn't find the $1000 yellows or oranges.)

I guess I was wrong in my prediction that Gold would be aware how outclassed he was at that table and nit up and shut up. Our dreams of seeing him stacked might actually come true, maybe even repeatedly. Also, does it look like Matusow was making a fish comfortable when he praised Gold for playing so many hands and not being a nit?

The last hand on the repeat was disgusting. I love Greenstein and freaking hate Sammy Farha. Sheiky blew up at him at the end over his bad beat, and I like the tension and bad blood between these guys. Well I guess there's bad blood between Sheiky and everyone.

I'm sure those guys want to get as much of that WSOP money as they can from Jaimie. I would try to make him as comfortable as possible at the table.
