Ask me threads.

Seems kinda fun. So if anyone's interested, go ahead and ask me about the obvious: Father, Mason, Company etc. He hasn't been notified, but you can ask Ryan Beal questions in this thread as well.

I heard your dad cheated at poker. Thoughts?

Also, I think you're pretty.

Re: Ask me threads.

This is a good time for me to mention that I will ignore questions that I feel are either too personal or boring.

I, too, am awaiting details on the cheating admission. He gave me a hint and it's pretty mundane. I'm more interested in his involvement with the mafia. If there was any, he's pretty tight-lipped about it.

no

i should clarify, My involvement with the forums is part of my overall duties. We gave me the fancy title of GM, which is not inaccurate, but we're small enough for it to be misleading. All of my employment is thru 2+2 and has been for a couple years.

Mat,

Who does you like to win the Superbowl and why? What's your favorite strip club in Vegas and why? Do you have any pets?

Ultimatly I fail at poker. I get bored and I get stupid. It's not interesting enough for me to even know if I've got the abilities.

Do you sometimes get the urge to weild the ban-hammer against specific posters/forums/moderators/your Dad?

If so, what irks you the most?

When Mason asked me to come back I was living out my "artistic fantasies." I was bartending and taking acting classes in New York.

If I lost the job today, I'd probably become a nurse. Seriously.

Chicago Bears. Bet with a friend and it would piss him off. Currently, I think the best strip club is cheetahs: fewest fake boobs in my experience. Two cats and a dog.

I assume you're asking if I ever get the urge and stop myself? Not at this point. When I was doing it all myself, I wanted to ban everyone who criticised me. I never took action on those feelings, however.

Re: Ask me threads.

With the ammount of traffic this forum gets, and that it archives all the threads, i assume it doesn't make enough money from ads to cover the expenses. Is this true, and would you be able to say how much it costs to keep these forums up? (total costs)

Is David your father? I always thought he was your brother.

Re: Ask me threads.

I get the impression from your Dad's "special forum" that he is and has always been far more interested in Personal Utility than Societal Utility even in a small way.

Is this how you were raised and how has this affected your perspective on public service/utility. EX: Military service, Police, Firefighting, teaching, etc.

what exactly are ryan beal's duties at 2+2? and as a related question, why was he chosen to do them?

I am asking this out of curiosity, not malice or anything like that. I remember seeing posts from AngryCola a lot back in the day and all of a sudden cola = Ryan Beal and he hardly ever posts anymore, but has some kind of hand in running the forums. also, who is commodus?

Re: Ask me threads.

1) Who do you turn to for really solid advice concerning running of the forum or a personal dilemna? Is there one person that you feel will always be objective and not self-serving?

2) How does your personality differ from your father's? What is your favorite/ least favorite trait that your father has?

3) In your opinion, should America try to win this war by committing more troops to Iraq?

BluffTHIS! 01-11-2007 02:12 PM

Re: Ask me threads.

Mat,

1) Do any of you employees of 2+2 have web development experience and do any site, as opposed to forum, administration, or does Chuck do it all? Do you pay Chuck a fee for same each month or is it part of the deal with Conjelco for book distribution?

2) If you ranked all the user mods on a scale of 1-10, would you ever consider asking the bottom 20% to quit being mods and find new ones to replace them, or would you view that as too ungrateful a thing to do in consideration of their work being voluntary?

3) If your Dad ever marries again, what is the over/under on the woman being at least your age?

BluffTHIS! 01-11-2007 02:19 PM

Re: Ask me threads.

Questions for Ryan:

1) How much if any poker do you play any more and what is the ratio of live to online?

2) Do you actually work in an office all day with Mat and Mason?

3) Is the office decor there cheap or luxurious?

4) diebitter in his OOT ask me thread said that NT! objected to this thread being here and not in OOT. Since I don't see any such posts here, is it correct to presume NT! cried like a little baby in the mod forum over this?

Some parents can only see their kids through rose colored subjectivity. I'd go so far as to say that most parents are like that, and that no matter what the kid does, the parents think that they're the best in the world.

For whatever reason, David seems like he'd be the opposite of that. If anything, I think he'd be more critical of you.

1. Is this the case?

2. Would you have it any other way?

My mother and father split when I was 2.

I lived with my mother. I saw my father somewhat frequently, but every trip revolved around fun activities. I can't say he was instrumental in shaping my views on the world.

Why has 2+2 done so little to monetize the traffic and userbase here?
