What to spend $1750 on?

I just got my first credit card, at 0% interest for a year with a limit of $1750. In order to build credit I want to buy some kind of toy and pay it off over the course of the year. My conundrum is in what to buy.

I already have a nice laptop, desktop, 37" LCD TV (bedroom), 50" DLP TV (living room), a crapload of really nice speakers, a few guitars and amps and whatnot, and my roommates and I have all the furniture we currently need.

I was thinking about getting a home theater projector but I think I'm gonna wait til I have a bigger place for that.

Remaining possibilities include a video game console or two (although all the consoles I've ever owned have gathered dust and I've ended up selling them), or an iPod, which I lack. I don't really NEED an iPod since I only ride the subway for about 10 minutes each way, and can listen to music on speakers at work or at home.

Soooo... anyone found any cool new toys lately or have any ideas? I don't necessarily need to spend the whole $1750, obv.

That's not the way to build credit.

Re: What to spend $1750 on?

If you don't need anything, there is no reason to buy something just to build your credit. Just pay for normal living expenses on your credit card (i.e. gas, groceries, etc.) and pay it off at the end of every month and you'll build up your credit plenty fast.

Re: What to spend $1750 on?

How bout you use the card for whatever you can pay off each month? You build credit faster by paying your balances off in full each month rather than carrying them from month to month.

Instead of spending cash, buy everything with the card, put the cash you'd spend into an interest-bearing savings account until the 0% rate is up and BAM! $0.17! Spend the $0.17 as you damn well please.

Maybe, but you're going to pay $87.33 in fees for only having $1750 in there.
