If you don't make a boat on the river, but a club appears, you're still calling his bluff. Thus making the game of minibet holdem a complete farce.

I once raised a guy on the river on an 88663 board and he called with 22. Can't find the hand in my PT database cause I don't remember what I had.

IMO that's not even as bad, because at least in the 22 case we can speculate that the dude misread the board and didn't realize he was counterfeited....But the 8 high calldown is pure spiciness

I agree. pocket twos has two pair with the board kicker, this guy is beating like 12 hands... and that's including suits.
