The video crew of the show actually showed up at the PokerDome in Vegas to videotape Rob Marinaro's attempt to win his TV tourney.

As I recalled, Marinaro was way too passive, and he played his final hand like a total amateur, not betting his flopped top pair until his opponent backed into a straight on the river.

Daniel has always claimed that props are what kept him from being too far in the red on High Stakes Poker.

From what I understand in his blogs, Rob is actually his friend.

I busted him in one of his early outings, aparrently in the episode that's airing this week. I had a short interview that my buddies said was aired and it looked good. Anybody see the show? I have yet to catch it.

So far, I've seen the one episode, where he pushes on a flush draw.

Had me ROFL. What a tool. Whoever they interviewed afterward certainly came off a lot better than Rob did.

Thanks. Whoever they interviewed was me. Y'all will get a kick out of how this hand went down:

Ten minutes into the session, him and I are only players with full stacks of $1k, ten handed. He limps UTG, I raise MP w/KTo, five of us to the flop. Comes KTx two diamonds, he opens for $30, I pop it to $120, folds around, he makes it... $1k? "I decided to make a move, and whaddya know he called with two pair."

I was disappointed however because they knew who I was and chose to not mention anything... not even a name. They were talking about how good it would be for TV that he got busted by a Vegas pro so quickly, but I suppose they decided to put a different spin on the show. At least they didn't spin me off to make me look like a dick!

Apparently I don't understand reality TV. They talk as if they are making real life decisions but there are cameras present to record the conversations between him and his wife. That would indicate that it was decided ahead of time to make a TV show. Therefore, one must conclude that they are acting???

This show would be much better if they just showed the reality dude donking off max buy-ins and then chalking it up to bad luck the whole time. I don't need to hear him talk to his wife. As an aside, he comes across as a super steamcase.

I watched the show and Rob is listed at the Executive Producer which means his wife knew in advance. It's not like she would say well Rob is the executive producer so I guess I will say no to the poker playing.

He seems like he is going to be a complete donkey. The whole show seems to be a complete joke. Rob says he is not a 9 to 5 type and wants to play poker. Lucky him he was able to pitch a "reality show" to Fox.

I a sad to see Daniel Negreanu got involved with this turkey.

I watch it just to see my prediction that Rob's got too many impulse control problems to do anything but lose spectacularly.

But, it seems like about DN's speed. I mean, DN's a great poker player, but I have some grave doubts as to his quality as a person, and by extension, his ability to judge character.

Rob goes all in with A6 of diamonds and you bust him with two pair. Then they interview you and you basically say, yeah these new no limit donks do that move all the time.

This show is so bad it's good -like the wreck you just can't help slowing down to rubberneck. Daniel's participation makes me question when he crossed the line from poker pro to tv reality star...

Was it weird when he came in with a camera crew in tow? Casinos usually ban video cameras, so you must have known it was something out of the ordinary. I think I would have taken a whizz until they left.

It was all pre set-up. I was playing at the Wynn and got a call from a floor guy at the Venetian. He told me that he had a game I needed to be in and it was going to be televised. So I showed up. We all had to sign release papers and then kinda sat around waiting for Rob to show up. We probably had played five hands before he sat down. Makes me love the "As soon as I sat down somebody recognized me" comment. Not weird with the cameras. Was a good time actually.

LOL this show is pretty funny so far. I'm pretty sure it's just an infomercial for Vegas. Amber took a tour of the Signature and asked how much it went for AFTER the cameras got a good tape of the place. Rob is wayyy too dumb to make it as even a winning poker player, much less a pro. I think Daniel hit a bad run of cards last year and agreed to do the show so he could still afford to have his mom bring him sammiches in the middle of games.

OH FYI it's on Fox Reality channel.

Made me kinda wonder how much this is coming out of their TV show's budget, though. It could be that they're living off the show.

I have to think that Vegas businesses are paying for all this advertising time.

Massive product placement. CarMax pays for the cars, etc. Reality TV is more scripted than real.

I fell of the couch laughing when they arrived in Vegas and Rob says "Since we were in Vegas I ordered a Limo" and every shot shows a limo with the Planet Hollywood logo on the side.

If you haven't seen this yet, there appears to be a marathon of it tonight at 10pm. I just got hipped to this yesterday by my brother who said "You've got to see this show. It's so f-cking bad."
I'm wondering who likes to be on tv more -- Rob and Amber or Daniel?

Just caught this tonight. Wow, it's bad. Maybe a step above cable-access. And why the hell is Negreanu spending his time watching this tool play 1-2 at the Red Rock?

Never saw the big deal about Amber either. Nice rack but otherwise just ok. And zero personality.

I actually liked it, except for the Rob and Amber acting parts, which are obviously faked. Its not a bad show though, especially if theres now poker on tv. I think he plays $5/$10, at least the shows I have seen, he always buys in for $1000.

You are right he probably is playing 5/10 or at least 2/5... but it's still terrible because it's so fake. Like Amber's fake shock at Rob's idea of moving to Vegas (yeah like this wasn't already pre-planned when they pitched the dumb show in the first place?) Or Negreanu's fake shock when Rob told him he wanted to be a pro (Negreanu: "Wow!"). The rampant product placement etc., it' all so cheezy.

BTW has anyone been to the Red Rock casino? Never been there but it looked real nice on the show. (So there's some good product placement for them I guess.)

Red Rock is sick nice, I was there last year for a game tournament and it was utterly sick.
