I hate the way I played this (100NL)
Villain is playing about half the pots so far (30 hands). I know I played it horribly, but I don't know what line I should have taken.
Felt weak to fold the flop, but can I really reraise here? Then WTF is that turn bet? By the time the river bet came I was just confused and called because I'd butchered the hand so badly that I figured why stop now. Re: I hate the way I played this (100NL)
I'm re-popping that flop an awful lot there. Lots of equity against a drawing or weaker hand quite often. The rest of the hand, as played, is fine.

Re: I hate the way I played this (100NL)
Asides from river, it looks ok to me.

Re: I hate the way I played this (100NL)
Cbet is weak. I bet 7 here.
As played Id raise that turn bet to 20 and then give up. |

7 is my standard cbet.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't think it makes much difference whether it's 6 or 7 - it's just a matter of preference really. Obviously $7 makes you an extra cent or something though. I tend to bet ~2/3 pot oop and 3/4 pot in position, though I think this is giving some players false-tells, thinking I'm bluffing with one of them or something. |
Re: I hate the way I played this (100NL)
Normally my cbet would be 6 here. I was messing around with the BetPot AHK script last night. Don't think the difference is material here.
I'd like the flop reraise more if it weren't for the gutshot outs. I don't want to get raised off my hand just yet. Given another chance to play this hand, I think I agree with the raise the turn and then give up advice. Thanks guys. |

[/ QUOTE ] This is interesting, since I often size my bet with the opposite pattern. I bet slightly more OOP, since I prefer ending the hand there, and I get more information about villain on the flop. I don't mind as much if an opponent floats when I have position, since I feel more comfortable playing the turn and river in position. |
Re: I hate the way I played this (100NL)
On the turn, he's scared of the flush. Raise him big, then give up if he calls.
On the river, I think he has maybe KJ? AJ or QJ are possible as well... But now he figures you don't have the flush so he's betting it again. |

Cbet is weak. I bet 7 here. As played Id raise that turn bet to 20 and then give up. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. My typical cbet on the flop is a hair less than pot size. And raising the turn as suggested here (I might even raise a little less) makes it much more likely that we win the pot now, get to showdown more often, and can confidently fold to any more action. As OP played its very hard to know where he's at, so I don't really hate the river call. |
