Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
I think I'm good here at least 1/4 of the times, and I call. He could do this with any ace

Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
Gotta bet the turn and keep control of the hand IMO.
Really sucks to have to call that river bet when his range includes so much that could beat you, so I'd probably fold. |
Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
I think you need to bet the turn to protect your hand and to try to get a free showdown. Flop is a little drawy the turn makes this board really drawy. I call the river bet here if I have checked the turn. UTG has not given you any reason to suspect he has a hand and is could just be bluffing a busted draw. I think 15 hands is not a enough information to label him a calling station just yet, he certainly is loose preflop though.

Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
yeah i also like a bet on the turn b/c he is a calling station. If he STILL bets into you on the river after the turn bet, then it becomes a whole lot easier of a fold.

OMG! You're Kramer! I'm more than happy to change my avatar if you're offended.
BTW, I'd just call. |
Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
How much on the turn ?
The pot is bigger than my stack so my only option is push but this sucks. I have only 17$ on the TURN. I don't think I'm ahead on the TURN |

Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
I was thinking about medium aces ,suited/unsuited connectors, small PP and the flop looked like it hit somebody
+ I had a feeling What hands do you put UTG on? |
Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
Big hand --> big pot
Small hand --> small pot Is the hero's hand big or small? Seems small to me. Checking the turn keeps the pot small(er). |
Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
Against a calling station/very loose player TPTK is a big hand. You only have to be ahead more than 1/4 of the time to make this call profitable therefore I´d call the river. [ QUOTE ]

You said the flop looked like it hit someone, and it did, that person was you. If you check the turn you have to call the river, he´s bluffing/you´re ahead often enough to call. |
Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
Thanks everybody for the replies!
I did call the river and lost to 108.First I thought I was beat but his c/c on flop and check on the turn made me think he had some small A . I still think I should trust my instinct sometimes.I lost 2 buy-ins tonight for not doing so.(result orientated I think) |
Re: 25NL : AK v calling station.
Amazing that he'd call a raise 8XBB with 10/8! Must have been suited...lol.
