Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
Pretty cool intro video from nbcsports.com:
http://video.nbcsports.com/player/?id=48187 First match is a must see for anyone who enjoyed watching Phil Hellmuth play on HSP1. |
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
I don't know if the word "enjoy" and Phil Hellmuth belong in the same sentence. But I will watch the first show in the same way I look at the results of a car accident...
|
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
Make sure you check the listings of your local NBC affiliate for air times.
If you are setting VCRs and DVRs, you need to set for Tuesdays-Saturdays at 2:05am-3:05am ET-PT/1:05am-2:05am CT-MT if your NBC affiliate is taking the shows directly off the NBC satellite feeds for your time zone. The "director's cut" on Sunday mornings, though listed at NBCSports.com as 1am-2am ET-PT, might air at different times on your NBC affiliate. Examples: KNBCTV-4 Los Angeles and KNTV-11 San Francisco will have it on Sundays at 3am-4am PT, and WNBCTV-4 New York will have it on Sundays at 2am-3am ET. |
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
Any simularity between this and the UK's "Late Night Poker" is purely coincidental.
|
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
Except the UK version was presented in the worst conceivable way: in a vacuum. No continuity, even the background was blacked out.
|
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
just a little confused...is it starting tonight Jan 1 at 2 meaning sunday night into monday or does it start monday night into tues?
|
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
It appears to start tomorrow night, and NBC is just confused on the way which we name dates after midnight.

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
Poker After Dark is Dark in Memphis.
Just found out our NBC affiliate is carrying Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Frasier, and King of Queens. Thats what I get for living in Hicksville. If you are coming out for the WPO, make sure you tape it back home, cause it isnt on here. |
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
NBC wanted to promote the show as running late night Monday thru Friday with the "Director's Cut" airing late night Saturday after Saturday Night Live. The words to stress here are "late night." Olivert's post is well worth reviewing for recording purposes. The show will begin airing "late night" tonight at 2:00 AM.

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
I Checked TV Guide.com for 3 weeks in Little Rock, Nashville and Memphis. Memphis has no listings for the next 3 weeks. So it looks like channel 5 here is doing a "Captain Tom" to the entire city.
|
Not in Houston either
It wouldn't hurt contacting your NBC affiliate to complain.
Contact info for anyone who is willing to bitch at the Houston affiliate for me can click here. I already did. |
Re: Not in Houston either
Pre-emptions reported so far:
KPRC-TV 2 Houston, TX (#10 market in the US) KXAN-TV 36 Austin, TX WMC-TV 5 Memphis, TN KARK-TV 4 Little Rock, AR WSMV-TV 4 Nashville, TN WGRZ-TV 2 Buffalo, NY There are probably more NBC affiliates in other markets that will pre-empt. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LISTINGS. -- WXIA-TV 11 Atlanta (TV market #9) will have it at 2:35am ET rather than 2:05am ET. NBC affiliates in Markets 1-8 (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, San Francisco, Dallas, and Washington DC) will clear the program. |

Re: Not in Houston either
I get a Detroit NBC channel as well as Buffalo (in my HD channels) and it's not listed there.
God damn it. Ryan |

I live in the middle of nowhere and I indeed will get to see Poker After Dark.

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
LOL. It did come on at 2 am. NBC website says otherwise, but whatev. I am happy!
|
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
I watched this last night, I really enjoyed it. It's nice that you can hear the players talk and you don't have some d-bag announcer talking over the table talk.

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
Of course my tv listings has the thing starting at 2:25, and not 2, when it actual starts, and I missed half of it.

What was the name of the politician Gus Hansen said he would vote for president if he could vote? I didn't quite catch the name.

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
I'm at my parents' place in Redmond, OR for break and for what it's worth, Poker After Dark wasn't in the listings last night but it came on at 2:05 anyway.
|
Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
I'm watching it now. I would really be enjoying it, except why the **** did they invite Sean Sheikhan? He's single-handedly ruining the atmosphere.

Re: Poker After Dark starts late night Jan. 1 @ 2:00 AM
You guys can watch most if not all of it on the web. http://www.nbcsports.com/poker/

Ryan [/ QUOTE ] It wasn't listed for the 3:30-4:30am timeslot on WGRZ (Buffalo), but they did in fact show it. I caught the last 15 mins as I was flipping by. I'm not sure if this will be a regular thing or not (as "The Tonight Show" is listed from 3:30-4:30 everynight this week), but last night was in fact the second show . . . so let's keep our fingers crossed. |
Re: Not in Houston either
Yes,the WGRZ Buffalo website now lists it all week for 3:30 am. Say bye bye to the extra infomercial money, WGRZ. Choke on that!

Re: Not in Houston either
