my boss just called and demanded that i leave by noon. He said if i want to leave earlier i can. The rest of the day is paid. This rules. I saw one of the girls in the voting thread mention this too. I'm thinking ill be gone by 1030. who else is on this boat?

i've never had a job that required me to stay the entire day before a holiday.

Rumor is we have a 1/2 day today. Of course my boss has become increasingly cheap over the past 4 years. We used to get days like this off paid, but it's slowly evolved to leaving 1-2 hours early and using your own P.T.O. Lame. Of course my boss isn't even here today.

I'm already home. I went in for 9:30, ate cookies and drank egg-nog until 11:30, and was out the door by noon.

I'm off all next week, and as soon as the boss leaves from the office next to mine, I'm outta here. I anticiapate this to be at around 3:30 or 4:00 (normally work 'til 6:00)

paid holidays. i get almost a full paycheck for days im not working and acquire vacation time from those days. holla.

I don't return to the office until Jan. 2. I'm on a contract right now, so I only get paid for the 25th and the 1st. The previous 6 years, the company I was with gave the whole week off paid, though. Semiconductor sucks, but the last week of the year off is pretty standard among the companies I've been in contact with.

I think ours come off vacation time. I think I get 3 weeks of vacation, but they always put us down for 4, with 1 week that must be used between xmas and new year's.

BTW, we got an extra full month's pay as a bonus this year! Yummy, holla!

11 vacation days per year. 12 paid sick days per year. 15 holidays per year. holla at cha government!

Ahhhhh government job. 38 paid days off a year is sick. I get 23 (15 vaca, 8 holiday) and I thought that was pretty sweet.

Already home - the client I'm working at shuts down all next week, so I'm off til the 2nd, with no vacation days burned. Whee!

I have to work tonight midnight - 8AM, I get 8 hours off, and then I work a double shift 4pm - 8am. So I'll be working 24 hours in the next 32 hours starting at midnight.

I was off work at 10am Thursday. I'll show up next Thursday but probably leave immediately and not come back until 2007. No vacation days spent.

30 paid leave days per year, as much sick time if I want if I'm actually sick, and usually 20 paid holidays. holla at cha military!

I got off Wed at about 2:30. Not goin back till the 3rd. All paid and doesnt count towards my vacation time. All we did on Wed was play poker, blackjack and drink Boones Farm. Furthermore the blackjack was a freeroll. The boss takes all the money from the soda machine for the year divides it up and deals blackjack for a few hours. They do this every year. The Boones Farm had to be my favorite part though. All of my bosses are quite discriminating in their alcohol but its tradition to drink alot of melonball and strawberry wine on the last day.

Off today at 1:30 and went to happy hour w/a vendor. Off Monday and Tuesday, took Wednesday as a personal day, working Thurs., working Fri. until 1:30, and off New Year's Day.
