AFC RB's: Tomlinson, Johnson, Parker(boo), Lorenzo Neal(FB)
AFC OL- Anderson(T), Ogden(T), Glenn(T), Faneca(G), Shields(G), Waters(G), Saturday(C), Hardwick(C) |
Re: Pro Bowl Players
I don't see a link yet, I'm just updating as I watch. Once I get a link I'll do it. It was released to the media earlier today as Jaguars.com said that Mathis was the only Jag to make it.

Re: Pro Bowl Players
NFC RB's: Tiki Barber, Gore, Steven Jackson, Mack Strong(FB)
NFC OL: Walter Jones(T), Jammal Brown(T), Chris Samuels(T), Larry Allen(G), Shawn Andrews(G), Steve Hutch(G), Matt Birk(C), Olin Kreutz(C) |
Re: Pro Bowl Players
Thanks Cody =)
AFC list looks pretty good to me. Good to see Saturday and Mathis on there. Jones-Drew is having an amazing year (5.7ypc!) but doesn't have enough carries, in my opinion, to be on there over Parker. |

I think Fred Taylor should have gotten the sympathy vote, oh well. I think Henderson being snuffed is terrible. I can't understand how he did not make the pro bowl.

And yeah MJD can look forward to a few pro bowls, but not this year. Westbrook seems to have been the victim of the oppisite of Romo's spot, too many good RBs in the NFC to avoid shafting someone. Why are there only 42 players on the rosters? Shouldn't there be 53?

I think Henderson being snuffed is terrible. I can't understand how he did not make the pro bowl. [/ QUOTE ] There are so many good DTs in the AFC. That rookie on Baltimore (Hagolti Nata or whatever) is having a great rookie year too from what I've read. |

Re: Pro Bowl Players
Marvin and Reggie are pretty obvious choices, as is Chad, but would anyone have objected to Housh going to. Hell they could save on air fare by only having tickets from Indy and Cincy.

but would anyone have objected to Housh going to. [/ QUOTE ] I would object. But I wouldn't make a huge stink about it. If you take Housh then how do you leave off: Andre Johnson, Coles, Walker, Evans? All 4 of those guys are just as deserving as Housh if not *slightly* more deserving. Edit: After looking at more stats I think I might actually have Housh higher than Coles, Walker and Johnson. Evans has had a very good year though. So I still have a hard time taking Housh over Evans. |
Re: Pro Bowl Players

Who do you drop? [/ QUOTE ] Gore, because he's not as big of a reciving threat. All 4 of those guys are awesome, but I'm taking Westbrook first. Combined DPAR (rushing + recieving) Westbrook: 44.9 Jackson: 38.0 Barber: 34.9 Gore: 28.5 |

That might be bias but at least it is arguable. Don't forget for 5 games they double and triple teamed him due to Stroud being hurt. He was still and is still capable of allowing any LB behind him to get 175+ tackles in a season. When teams don't run up the middle even when Rob Meir is in the game, that says something of how good you are. |

TO was third in fan balloting. They said on that Sportscenter show that it shows that the coaches and players did not vote for him.

[/ QUOTE ] Andre Johnson wasn't that great this year. He was 1095 yards, but he was targetted 152 times--7.2 Yards/Target. Lee Evans 9.1: I think he should have been AFC WR4) Walker 9.0 Before monday, Housh gained 8.8 yards/target, but he caught 72% of his targets, which is an exceptional rate. OTOH, he had the 3rd best QB in football, whereas Evans had an average QB. |

Compared to all those discussed, Gore has the weakest surrounding cast by far and is still leading the NFC in rushing. He also has close to same rec yards as Tiki on fewer receptions, plus more TDs. He is option 1 and 2 on the team and is still dominating week in, week out. |

Westbrook 2, Barber 3, Jackson 3. Gore is also the least valuable receiver: <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>Receiver Targets Yds/Att RB-S.Jackson 104 6.64 RB-B.Westbrook102 6.37 RB-RB-F.Gore 77 5.74 RB-T.Barber 72 6.33</pre><hr /> Source: http://www.solecismic.com/targetdata.php |

Re: Pro Bowl Players
Gore is also the most valuable rusher in the NFL per your link (even better than LT):
RB-L.Tomlinson (SDO) 1626 5.19 RB-L.Johnson (KCY) 1518 4.30 RB-F.Gore (SFO) 1515 5.59 RB-T.Barber (NYG) 1440 4.83 RB-W.Parker (PIT) 1330 4.62 RB-S.Jackson (STL) 1225 4.25 RB-F.Taylor (JAX) 1189 5.19 RB-C.Taylor (MIN) 1171 4.12 RB-R.Johnson (CIN) 1150 3.81 RB-T.Jones (CHI) 1136 4.01 RB-B.Westbrook (PHI) 1102 5.17 Also, as for % of total offenses yards: Gore 48% Westbrook 33.2% As I stated, Gore has the worst surrounding cast and is performing on par or better than all other RBs. I agree Westbrook should have made it, but over Tiki not Gore. |

Whoever said the Bill's punter in the Week 13 awards thread was spot on. He is the starting punter for the AFC team. [/ QUOTE ] He definitely deserves it. I still think Scifres and possibly Lechler are better overall punters though. Did anyone see Scifres dropping punts that die right on the 5 yard line again Sunday? He might be the most accurate punter I've ever personally seen. And when he needs to boot it, which is rare because their offense is awesome, he can. |

Re: Pro Bowl Players
Tiki shouldn't have made it first over the other three. He only got in b/c he won the fan vote.
Gore is leading all of the top 10 RBs in YPC with a QB that noone would argue is that great. Tiki: 1357 Yards, 4.7 YPC, 288 Carries, 2 TDs. 429 Yards Rec, 0 Tds, 52 reps Gore: 1491 Yards, 5.5 YPC, 6 Tds (6 fumbles) 418 Yards, 1 Td, 53 reps Gore has more TDs, more yards on less touches. He does have more fumbles but only 2 after the first 4 weeks. |
