Identity - new TV show

Anybody else watch this?

I think that first guy (the P.I.) might have been trying to get tells off of them, by the way he would slowly wonder out loud if it was this person or that person, and go back and forth before making his pick.

When the football game went to commercials, I watched some of it.

This might be the worst TV game show ever.

I like 1v100. It would be cool to put dollar amounts behind each of the 100 to see how much they have won too. A Duke, from the last one I saw, was still there after answering like 15 straight questions over 2 shows.

Thanks for clarifying. If you would have just said "Yes," I would have assumed that the State of Pennsylvania is hosting.

The mob doesn't win unless the contestant blows it. Since the contestants wimp out a lot, the mob doesn't win much.

But LOL at Ken Jennings getting pwned by the roulette question.

I would watch this, 'cause it seems fun to play along with, but Penn's involvement precludes my doing so.

What a trainwreck. The PI guy was borderline stupid, and the chick who went after him was completely retarded. Seriously, I could have gotten seven pretty easily on her round, and then used my freebie eliminating one of the final tough matchups. I pegged the biker guy as the nuclear physicist for some reason, damn I'm good.

The thing about shatner's show is it seems insanely easy to win a crap load of $$. From the 2 episodes i watched, I'd say the EV for a decently smart person is well over 300k.

Really I don't think it's smart to try to go further in this game once you've blown your help. You get to the point where you're up against a reasonably smart mob and risking $75k+ to win another $5-20k.

I saw a little bit of Identity, having DVRed it, and it was god awful. Never again.

Shatner's new game is pretty bad too. I really hate how it takes an hour to ask 10 questions. I watch this show 6 mintues. I could watch it in 2 if it weren't for the dancers. 1 vs 100 isn't much better, but I enjoy it a lot more. Hasn't Annie been on 3-4 episodes now?

Worst show evar.. not even close...

They also had a contest with some kids... " which of these kids uses abc mouthwash""

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Next gameshow idea.. I AM THINKING OF A NUMBER BETWEEN 1 and 10!!!!

Re: Identity - new TV show

I actually thought Identity was "ok," but I can't stand any of these new shows, in general. How about a game show where they get through more than 4 questions/picks/whatever in an hour? Talk about over-produced. Identity would be much better if it was just faster.

I did love how stupid the second contestant's friends were. When they unanimously said that Eve Plumb was the Oscar winner, and then Penn reminded them that Oscars are for movies, they looked dumbstruck.

I haven't watched Shatner's show and I want to alternate between licking razor blades and lemons whenever I catch more than five seconds of Deal or No Deal. If I do, for some reason, stay on that show long enough to see one briefcase picked, I root for the contestant to lose.

Re: Identity - new TV show

Identity is also massively +EV, atleast the one they showed today. It's so easy to tell who is who, that it seems almost impossible to lose. Plus, these idiots have no strategy whatsoever. You have to save 1 easy one for the end so it won't be as difficult.

Note the guy just went perfect tonight, 12/12. Cant believe they took away the mistaken identity at the end, unless they told him that beforehand.

I like playing along with this game. I guess i'm in the minority.

Okay, I missed the beginning and I'm watching the end right now. Is there no penalty for being wrong? They aren't even asking if he'd like to stop, so I guess so. That's the easiest gameshow ever if you aren't risking anything.

After you get the 1st 2 people right, you get 1 "mistaken identity", so you get 1 miss. After that miss, you either take the money before guessing more, or guess a persons identity, losing all your $$ if wrong.

Once the guy got down to 2 people left, they took away his "mistaken identity", so he had to get it right.

Re: Identity - new TV show

Ahhh, I'm getting the mistaken identity thing now. I just thought that meant that there was one fake identity, I didn't realize that meant he could miss one.

They take the "mistaken identity" away at the end so it's not a free shot at the $500,000 prize. Knowing that, the two times I saw this game, neither contestant used the mistaken identity freebie before they lost it. One guy did wind up winning, but it cost one woman $250,000....she had expert help and mistaken identity lifelines left with three choices to go: crocodile wrestler, kidney donor, and CSI agent. On stage were one man who was obviously the croc wrestler and two women, who were basically a coinflip for the other two identities. All she had to do was choose one of the women as the kidney donor...total freeroll. If she missed, she chooses the other woman as kidney donor, and she wins out. Instead, she used her expert help to pick the croc hunter (??), got it, lost her mistaken identity pass, and quit at $250,000 rather than risk it (she would have lost)....

As I've said, I've only seen two episodes of this....is it as ridiculously easy as I think it is?

Re: Identity - new TV show

1. Penn is AWFUL as the host.

2. As a game show veteran, I would give ANYTHING to be on this show. Looks like an easy $500k to me. So I hope NBC renews it so they can get more contestants.
