Has not acted in a bad film?

This came up the other day when watching Pulp Fiction. My friend said he did not really like watching John Travolta in anything after he watched him in Battlefield Earth.

We started talking about how there probably weren't any established actors in Hollywood who had not made at least one bad film. I certainly couldn't think of any.

The only stipulations are that they have to have acted in at least 5 major motion pictures. Also, it's ok if the film didn't do too well at the box office if it was given rave reviews by many critics.

i think what you've gotta look for is someone relatively young who either started in an indie film or came out of absolute nowhere and has been pretty selective.

Edward Norton's first 6 films come to mind

or maybe a guy like Mark Ruffalo, minus the romantic comedies

Looking at Ed Harris resume, I am pretty impressed. I can't comment on his work from the early '80's-70's though.

Thought Stepmom sucked, but I'm sure girls love it. Milk Money was also entirely forgettable. Loved Apollo 13 and Truman Show though.

Denzel Washington has been in a ton of crap movies: John Q, Fallen, and Virtuosity to name a few.
Steven Buschemi has been in a lot of good movies, but is disqualified for being in Mr. Deeds, Spy Kids 2&3, and above all, The Island.
Matt Damon is pretty damn good. Of the movies listed his only real failing mark is for Stuck on You.

I'm amazed how often Dogma comes up as a bad movie in this forum. It's one of the few films I just started again as soon as it ended, I was so taken with it. Watched it 3 times in one day the first time I saw it.

('Naked' and 'Ed Wood' are some others that did this for me as well).

Agreed. I think Dogma is pretty good, along with Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Mallrats.

If it wasn't for She-Devil, you could go with Meryl Streep. And she's done a LOT of films.

Harrison Ford comes pretty close. Air Force One and Hollywood Homicide kinda kill it, though.

Yeah we're pretty much doomed if we're naming household name actors like Harrison Ford, Matt Damon, etc. They are awesomely good actors, but are surely in at least one horrible movie.
