Hermione\'s New Competition
 

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix starts filming this month for a 2007 release.

Hermione will no longer be the only 14-15 year old in the film for the pseudo-pedophiles to have to restrain themselves from.

I'm a big fan of Emma Watson and will be terribly jealous if she continues to get prettier. I didn't even like the girl that played Cho Chang or that Beuxbaton girl, but Emma looked incredible.

Luna Lovegood? Bleh. Her character isn't meant to be attractive, anyway.

Nah. She's a blonde. Here's how the Lexicon describes her appearance.

Hair: dirty blonde, waist-length and straggly.
Eyes: protuberant, with very faint eyebrows.
Distinguishing features: dreamy look, often seems to have turned up wherever she is completely by accident .

I don't like either of them.

I thought Watson was a decent Hermione in the first couple movies, but in the last one I hated her performance. She doesn't seem to be making an attempt at portraying Hermione, she's just trying to look all pretty. And she's starting to act more like a ditzy teenager than a nerdy know-it-all.

I need to see Luna in action before really judging her, but I doubt this girl can pull it off. Luna is one of my favorite characters and I don't like thinking about how she'll be portrayed. I think Luna should be earnest but vacant, and I just don't see it in this girl. Also it's clear in the books that Luna's appearance is very "different."

Ah well.
