Pocket Pair situations

This may have already been posted or something similar may have been posted. It may well just be me, but when I play online I have noticed that if you are dealt a Pocket Pair in the hole, then you can pretty much guarantee that you are not the only person at the table who has one.

Often 3 PP's are out etc. Is this to generate action between players and increase pots etc? I don't think that it is fixed in anyones favour or anything, I just believe it heklps to increase profits.

This is not nearly as common in the live games I have been playing and at times online it becomes frustrating.

What do you guys think? Have you any opinions on it?

I definately believe its to generate action and create bigger pots, thus bigger rakes etc.

LOLOLOLOLOL. Ok ok. Like I say, I do not believe its fixed in any players favour, I just believe its used to get more action at the tables. I expected to be ridiculed by the narrow minded, but just wanted opinions, not insults or pointless comments. I could be way off the mark, its just my experience thats all.

what are the chances that it only seems this way becasue you are playing 6x more hands per hour then you would in your live games?

it has nothing to do with narrow mindedness. It's AGAINST online sites' interests to rig the games. The whole reason they are successful is because people trust them with their money. Frankly, having these "pocket pair battles" would hurt them; players would get frustrated and STOP playing.

Oh and seriously, this is brought up very frequently. And people will always mock you for suggsting it

OK fair enough, I suppose you have a point.Thinking about it, the sites that are not the ones who create/develop the software are they? so it would be pointless for the software creator to add this situation of their own accord because it wouldn't benefit them in any way. Oh well, I can stop being so sceptical now and play the hands properly!!!!

cheers

Re: Pocket Pair situations

I think you're on to something. Just last week, I had pocket aces and the guy on my right had pocket kings. The very next night, it was someone else who had pocket aces while I had pocket jacks.

Oh wait, that was at a live game at a casino. They must be in on the conspiracy as well.

You might see more situations like the one you described playing online simply because you play so many more hands than in a live game

In Holdem One pocket pair increase the odds of having more pocket pairs. It happens live too.

Yes, and then there are 2 pocket pairs and the possibility of a third pocket pair is even greater, and than you're almost sure there is a fourth.
