You've gotta step away, figure out what went wrong, and realize there are no easy fixes. Gotta claw your way back.

It probobly feels like a punch in the stomach, but you must resist the urge to blow the remainder of your bankroll trying to get back- drop down in stakes, regroup, and rebuild- you're not completley broke, so DO NOT piss away the rest of your roll- money not lost buys just as much as money won.

dude,
I have lost 2/3 of my bankroll in the past 3 weeks. Unbelievable downswing I have never seen before. You won't belive this but for the past 3 weeks, all my KK's have lost, either there was somebody with AA's or somebody flopped a set on a raggedy flop.

These things happen. You're probably playing on tilt right now. Although I'm sure a lot of the losses have come when you are best. Take a step back, learn a new game. I hit a decent downswing at 5/10 limit and took up no limit. Turned into a great move. But drop down before you kill off your bankroll.

I had been on what felt like a huge downturn of cards for about 14 days (was actually even). Felt like down turn because I was putting all the time in but not making a bunch of money like I normally do. Anyway... i could have lost a [censored] ton if I didn't step back and say... hey.. your getting cold cards.. don't force anything! I admit I forced and got stacked in a couple spots.. but no where near what the avg person would have done. Then you have to realize it happens to everyone and just try and lose less the the next guy, cuz when you break out of the slump you break out hard and you wished you hadn't given away so much cash. Now instead of making back lost money I'm breaking into new highs.

Re: downswing

I've been playing in a local club where the consistency and ridiculousness of the losses, combined with the lack of any semblance of balance in winning, has led me to seriously wonder if I'm being cheated. I've played in numerous clubs and have never been so cold decked as I am there. The fact that those associated with the place always seem to catch well doesn't help.

But then I remember these things. Variance can be cruel and unusual punishment. When you continually lose in a certain place, level or game, it's because you're either running bad, playing bad or, most likely, both.

So when that happens, and I feel like the world is against me and wonder what it's like to win, I don't go back there. I go back to a place where I consistently win. It works. Find another game, or site, or whatever. If you have no other options, don't play.

Dude after u lose 10% of ur bankroll thats when its time to step down in limits and just chill out. letting urself lose more than 10 is just asking to go broke.
