what is the age range for you fine 2+2ers, and how long have you been playing poker full time? am i one of the older ones at 28?

i was alive for kennedy's inauguration and eisenhower's farewell. i was lucky to be able to go to the NY world's fare. i saw the mets play at the polo grounds and their first year at shea. i saw kennedy assasinated and johnson inaugurated. i saw nixon rise and fall. i saw the azazing mets win in 69 and frazier and reed and a future senator win in 70. i saw the beatles form and break up. i saw the roling stones form and will never break up. and i was around when sputnik casued such a stir in this country. i was around when an apple was just something to eat. i got to play pong and space invaders when they first came out. and i was around when vegas was still run by the mob and franky and sammy were in their prime.

i've seen poker rise to the top and will be around when it falls right back down.

i've been around way too long.

and i dont feel that im old, as young or old is mostly a state of mind.

Well, I remember playing poker in the 1970s in England when this new game "Hold'em" was introduced. I think that Alvarez was in the game at the time. I know that Tony Holden was, since it was his house.

I remember when nearly all high-low games were declaration, when it was a continual matter of debate whether flushes and/or straights could be disregarded for the low, and whether the Ace had to count as high.

I remember the Battle of Grosvenor Square and the dream that was Eugene McCarthy, and I remember Kent State, partly because I went to a (different) Kent University.

And I remember my first Hold'em tournament, in 1981 or 1982, in Birmingham (England, not Alabama) at Cromwell's. Dave was the cardroom manager and we got comped a free meal solely because we had driven all the way from Canterbury (England, not New Zealand) to play.

They were good times. Somewhere along the way it all seemed to get too serious and less good, but perhaps I am using rose-tinted spectacles to view the past.

Thank you for adding a full spectrum of ages into your poll. It was depressing to have to mark down the oldest category on the last age poll I saw on this site. Being in my upper 30's I would like to think I still have several decent year's left.

I am guessing the age of most posters on 2+2 is about 20 years old.

It's nice to see that there are several here older than I am.

I was born late 1956, during Eisenhower's first term but after he had been re-elected to a second term.

The poll shows that the average age is 30-39. I guess we all thought it was younger because the 20+ year old posters post more frequently. And I guess we all don't act our age when we respond.
