Lowest mark you\'ve ever recieved for a final grade?
 

Errrm... There's this class that I'm taking and I've left all the studying until the last minute. I was sick for the mid term so the final is 70% of my total mark. The other 30% is from assignments but I didn't do those either.

Realistically, I can see myself getting maybe 25-30% for my final mark. This is not going to look good as my final is tomrorow.

What's the lowest final grade you've ever recieved?

btw, is there some sort of mercy rule where I can talk to advising and get them to let me get a F or some sort of withdrawal so I don't have to write the exam? There's gotta be something for me to walk out with some small shred of dignity that I have left? [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

Go tell them how you dropped the class however long ago the drop deadline was, and something got screwed up and you are still enrolled.

Talk to somebody in the dean's office, advising will not be helpful here.

You used the word "mark" so you are probably British or something. My advice comes from the American college perspective.

I got an F in a class in college. It was a summer session course - the only class I was taking but I was also working like 50 hours a week. I had some minor medical problems that summer that I used as an excuse to get an extension on the final project and ended up just never doing it. I was lazy in college, but never had any other grade lower than a B-.

I have never made lower than a C in a course and those are rare, but in one course I had the head of the department decided to screw the whole department due to his anger from past classes going on and doin so bad....so goin into the final i had a 92%A and after taking the final which was multiple choice (statics course...kind of like advanced physics for mechanical engineers)....I recieve my grade of a 49% F over all in the course...I called the head of the department and he told me that I got a 3% on the final and failed the course...The failure rate for the whole course was 60% of the students and the 40% that passed most were D's and C's....I retook the course and got a 95% A overall.

lowest in college was a c-, but that was with a bunch of bonus points i got for having to go first. i once got a paper back with comments somewhere along the line of "this is the worst paper ever" (which it was) but i still got a b- because college is a joke

lowest in high school was i believe a d in 7th grade grammar, and an f or two in physics but they didn't count since the whole class screwed up

i could see it happening in a really tough math or physics exam BUT THIS WAS MULTIPLE CHOICE

even if you skipped a question and started bubbling in wrong you should still do better than that

The head of the department put answers A-AF and gave us stuff that wasn't even in our book or ever covered for that matter. He is no longer incharge of the department thank god.

statics is an easy course. Deforms is a bit harder. Then dynamics is a kick in the nutz.

F bumped to a C. Took Organic Chemistry II in the summer however i was working full time and my job required travel. If i attended this class at 8 in the morning each day for an hour i would have to drive my own vehicle to the job site instead of a state vehicle with my coworkers. therefore i never went to class found out i had a huge final project due, and my final was during we fest a large music festival at eight in the morning. so i used an excuse that my roommate was in a car accident, sent the teacher a link to a story in the paper, and told him i was going to be in the burn unit in a distant hospital with my roommate and got out of the project. Then in a nightly home game i bought my underage poker playing cohort two cases of busch light to take the final for me, and he did better than i would have and got my grade up to a C. Never take summer school when u only get three months of summer

lol well, i have my final in 4 hours and I'm pretty screwed. I think I'm going to get a final grade/mark of like 20% if I'm lucky. Oh well, I'll just take it again and do better.

I have actually been debating on whether or not to show up to hte final. But I'm thinking that 20% for my final grade is better than 0%? I'm taking 2 other courses right now and I'm doing OK in the other 2, but I don't want a 0% 'cause that might drop my term average down so low that I'll be put on academic probation [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

same situation as me.... If i don't show up to the final in a week... which i won't because my prof is a bitch, I'll get somewhere around 20-25% [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I got a B- in Drugs and Society.

I was stoned every day and never studied.

I also got a C in one of my one credit courses, but those don't count.

I got a C+ in this one course that was nearly all analyzing Milton's "Paradise Lost." I was really pissed off too; it dragged down my solid gpa for that quarter.

I got a B- in some Astronomy class and a B- in some Polisci class. I've never been a huge fan of those mandatory intro classes. Oh, and a B in some Stats class. Those are my 3 lowest grades.

Mechanics and Dynamics were a breeze, statics the second time was b/c the tests were fair....the only reason it was hard was due to the fact that the department screwed us.

How is that even possible?
If it's multiple choice with, say, 5 choices per question, wouldn't you get 20% just by guessing?

D- twice, both of them were my first semester and the classes were American History and Human Geography. However on the bright side, I'm a junior and haven't gotten a grade lower than a B- since then.

probably a better school than yours. i think i manage to get it done by not having to start threads like "paying someone to write your paper" and "taking finals drunk". some people seem to spend absolutely 0 effort whatsoever, even when such a minimal level is all that's needed.

C, first quarter freshman year calc. I aced the first 3 quizes, at which point, I stopped attending class or trying. Apparently...the course got harder.
