As played I fold the river and I hate life, but bet bigger on the turn and at that point you can probably fold to a shove.

I'd call but not love it. Also how concerned are you about 56. It would seem like something I'd be concerned about, but I rarely see that donkbet from a draw on the turn, given the top card paired. I also don't think guys bet this underfull here that often, especially since trips just turned into a "full house." Therefore, I'd weight his range toward 97 and bigger 9s than 9T, but it wouldn't stop me from calling and snapping off 98 96 or random awfulness... ya dig?

I think this fold is good. This spot sucks, but if you havent seen the villian making any moves than this is a big hand almost all the time. Plus 65 got there too.

An interesting qusetion is do you call if the river is some random card like a Q?

Raising the turn doesnt accomplish a whole lot. The board is relatively dry and if hes bluffing we dont want to scare him off.

He is a fish, but on the river it looks like hes expecting to get called and when he bets that big I think he has a very strong hand.

yea I call if river blanks. 7 is the wrost card in the deck imo because his most likly bluffing hand on the turn(only bluffing hand?), and 97 now beats me.

I like it. Even a fish won't be mistakenly value betting any worse hands than your trips on the river (except maybe 96/98), and you said he appears straightforward postflop. You beat a stonecold bluff.

his bet sizing looks like a bluff to me. a little small on the turn for his cheap river, then jacks it on the river when he realizes you're not too strong. it is possible though that he hit with 65

if the turn was the 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] i'd fold despite my read that i think he's bluffing, but when it puts a flush draw out, and with those stats, i have a hard time folding. i don't think it's terrible though. probably just a few bucks either wya

I'd fold too cos the deck would be rigged.

As for the hand this really really really looks like 56 to me - the cheap turn and then the big river. But that's obviously a pretty limited hand range. I fold if I haven't seen him get out of line ever, otherwise it really depends on how I feel about it at the time.

2 things. 1 is that i was thinking like 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or gutter+flush draw. 2 is that it also makes it less likely for OP to have anything at all, and it gives him a legitimate card to represent

This is one of those cases where villian could be value-betting a worse hand, like 98, but probably won't do that often enough. In other words, you need to think he is at least bluffing sometimes. Some fish never ever do this so it would be a fold against them, but I think I'd pretty much call this down every time to be honest.

I'd call. I think you're good here at least the 1 in 3 times you need to be.
There are a few hands that villain may think he's value betting here that you're ahead of. 98, 96s, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a strangely played TT-AA.

Josh's argument that the river looks like a bluff is a good point, but I'd still def. fold, so I vote fold. And I want to see results b/c I'm a results-oriented fish.
