This is certainly resonable too. Btw your raise is to 24 I'm assuming?

I usually fold TT and call JJ I think? Depends on BB, sometimes I would call with TT or fold JJ.

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

problem with calling is if one of the others comes along too you're in a really tough spot.. which is why folding is what i'd do here prob.

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

Quite surprised at people saying fold. I guess that's what makes squeezing so profitable.

Do you know him? does he squeeze

I must say I cant see fold here, ever.

Not sure If I would call or 4 bet

two behind its a definit fold for me, one behind prob a call.. depends on if he pulls this move a lot, does he need a huge hand to play OOP against several opponents.. etc

Does the fact that his raise was 18 instead of 24 make a difference?

But I think we are mostly draw to set value which we have odds to do I think. And possible check down value however unlikely.

is calling with AK bad?

If your shoving AK, are you shoving KK and AA too?

cts 12-05-2006 07:01 PM

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

A lot better to see five cards with AK. Lots of equity vs his range. Hell yea I shove KK and AA too with two guys left to act.

Or he has 33 and is squeezing, he may even lay down queens here

if villain was iluvwnba then you should strongly consider pushing

generally call

ahnuld 12-05-2006 11:11 PM

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

generally call cause we gots position, but I think 4 betting is better than folding. We can easily get AQ maybe even AK to fold to a 4 bet incorrectly.

Call, CALL and cALL.

ahnuld 12-05-2006 11:15 PM

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

I liked MDMA's posts better when he took 3 pages. I mean, I knew alot of what he was saying, but it was still a good refresher to jog my memory every day of the reasons behind the "standard" play. guess everybody burns out eventually.

Requin 12-05-2006 11:18 PM

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

The reasoning is because shoving just runs you right into queens. I thought at the time the guys behind me made raise > call, but considering the reraise size that's probably not the case, thanks guys.

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

If you have no reason to think he's out of line, fold. You have to stack him like EVERY time you hit a set to pay for running into a big pair.

JOHNY CA$H 12-06-2006 02:25 AM

Re: Checkup, one-liner answer is fine

I don't see the set value- it's razor thin, if he's folding like 10% of the time you hit, you're in the red.
