****Official tOSU/Florida BCS National Title Game thread****

With USC's loss, and Florida's tougher schedule than Mich, I guess this will be a done-deal by the time the votes are in and the BCS computers put Florida ahead of Mich.

So, what's the line?? tOSU -10 ??

I'm a Michigan fan (check my posts), but it would be naive to think that Florida beating an 8th ranked team is not going to put them ahead of an idle Mich.

Including a 4 win UCF team....

It isn't like those cupcake matches didn't hurt the stat I mentioned...Not to mention their rivalry game against a .500 FSU that lowered that stat too.

[censored] college football.

The only matchups that would interest me are Tosu vs. USC/LSU.

So here's what I want to happen...

Florida plays Tosu and wins.
Michigan plays USC/LSU and gets blown out.
Whichever one of USC/LSU doesn't play Mich. kills whoever they play.

That would be hilarious.

ESPN poll has most of america behind michigan now. only them SEC fanbois down south want FLA. its funny how the main things affecting the rankings this year are arbitrary things like, they didnt play the last 2 weeks or they lost later than the other guy(to a better team)

im glad USC lost though so that we can have this debate haha, what happened to the tosu vs usc thread punks!!!

The poll is meaningless. The state of Florida has 2k less votes right now than the state of Michigan & we get a lot of anti votes from FSU/Miami fans. It's not that big of a deal.

you are retarded, Michigan hasn't beaten anyone all year, except maybe Wisconsin. Michigan's SOS is severely inflated, Florida's is severely deflated because their opponents would be undefeated if they didn't beat the crap out of one another.

Top 12 SOS in the NCAA go to the 12 SEC teams, no computer calculations can figure that out since their only loses come against one another.

Again, Are you aware that it isn't "artificially inflated" by
4-7 UCF
2-9 Western Carolina (assuming they counted this one)
6-6 FSU (which actually HURTS that number, despite being FSU).
And then an 8-5 ConfUSA South.Miss.

Against D1A opponents: .609
Include WCU: .579

Explain to me which of the teams from that OOC list "artificially inflated" that statistic. I'll tell you, Southern Miss...who's win % was an astounding .615. (Wow that really "inflated it" up from the final .609 mark)

Then explain to me, please, which of these teams HURT that number. Well 2-9 surely if we include that. And even if we don't, a .500 FSU team and a 4-7 UCF surely knocked that overall number down a bit...

It just further shows how tough the In-Conference schedule of UF was....
Without their "cupcake schedule that artifically inflates Opp. Win %", UF's SEC opponents % was .651...

----
Now, since I was talking Opp. Win % and you said that Michigan played a tougher schedule because it wasn't artifically inflated...Let's get down in there real quick.
Michigan's Big-10 Opp. Win% - .583
Michigan's total Opp. Win % - .579

You can talk about the other Strength of Schedule measures all you want. But if you're going to say something entirely wrong (inflation?), then you're going to get called on it.

Do you get me now?

how insulated is the Big10? the conference rose as it's teams got to play each other instead of big East and div 1-AA non-conference opponents.

Re: ****Official tOSU/Florida BCS National Title Game thread****

It's pretty obvious that both the Big10 & SEC are insulated & have played virtually no good games out of conference this year. There is no objective way to determine if UM is better than UF.

But just watch the games and UM sure looks a HELL of a lot better than UF looks. Seriously, what do you think the line would be if UF played UM right now on a neutral field? 3? There is VERY little doubt in my mind that UM would be favored.

Seriously, LSU favored over Michigan? There is no insurance LSU will score more than 3 vs. UM (see Auburn). How are they going to cover the spread?

jvs

P.S. As an OSU fan, I'm hoping we get to play UF. I'm confident in having a better than break even chacne of beating UM or UF, but I feel getting to play UF would be a substantially easier game.
