yeh, [censored], same here.

Re: ***Gift Ideas for __________***
What's to be embarrassed about? It's not like you're buying it for yourself. Besides, there's usually either hot chicks working or shopping at the store that you can flirt with.

You can buy stuff online, but there are a lot of stores more upscale and discreet then Victoria's Secret - Agent Provacateur is a good one. I don't understand though - is the process of purchasing the lingerie in front of other people that's the embarassing part, or is it the process of giving it to her? Also I would like help knowing what to buy for my brother. He is 18, 6'7 ~290 lbs (therefore clothes are realllly hard to get), and goes to a military academy (so booze doesn't work either). |

[/ QUOTE ] He plays football for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, was recruited places etc. He does like raw meat but I doubt it would ship well//am not looking to kill him as he's terribly nice. He likes to shoot things, is very funny and well liked, oddly enough just bought a 6' revolving snowglobe for his dorm room so doesn't need one of those. I was thinking restaurant gift certificates for when he comes home to take his gf out since he doesn't have a way of earning $ except during breaks he works at a moving company. But video games etc, he can't have at school also whoever said Jenny Craig doesn't understand that tall football players would fall over if they were skinny. duh. |
Re: ***Gift Ideas for __________***
I collect a lot of sports memorabilia. Get him an autographed pic of his favorite player. Also autographed baseballs, basketballs etc. are nice.

Re: ***Gift Ideas for __________***
im getting this girl im seeing a really soft blanket. and probably another for myself. its the softest thing ive ever felt.

Re: ***Gift Ideas for __________***
Fluorescent,
I freakin LOVE that idea! I am a huge advocate of cuddling and I think it would be so sweet if my bf gave me a soft blanket for us to cuddle with. Plus, that is a cheap and practical gift. I almost always get my little bro a book that I really enjoyed. We have similar tastes. If you have a reader in your life who likes twisted stories, I recommend "Haunted". It is by the same guy who wrote Fight Club and it is amazingly crazy. I also recommend "Youth In Revolt". My dad loves Tom Clancy. I think most dads do. |

Anyone know what to get my girlfriends parents?
I know Her Dad's into sports,and reading Her Mom's into baking. |
Re: ***Gift Ideas for __________***
For the 50 year old dad...
He's guaranteed to like at least one sport, and therefore has at least one team that's 'his'. Jerseys, hats, signed baseballs, trivia books, etc are all winners. If he's into golf then it's really easy. You can almost always find a box of golf balls that he likes, possibly with some cool logo (like his alma mater) on them, or a voucher for a round at a nice course, etc etc. For the gf... Jewelry always wins. Take a female friend to the store and have her point out some stuff in the $50-$150 (or whatever) range. Earrings are usually winners since you'd be hard pressed to find a pair that she'll hate so much that she won't be able to wear with anything, especially if it passes another girl's inspection first. And always include some kind of nice card -- girls are total suckers for little additions like cards, bows, and nice wrapping paper. For the brother/sister/uncle/etc.... A good fallback plan for any family member / stocking stuffer is a comic strip day-to-day calendar. It's not a 'nice' gift by any stretch but they're fun and everyone likes at least one comic or another. Add a sudoku or other puzzle book and you have a decent gift that anyone will like. Another thing to think about is the kinds of things that you like to get as presents. Generally if you think something is really cool (other than clothes), one of your friends or family members would like it as a gift. |

Re: ***Gift Ideas for __________***
For my brother, age 27, who has an interest in the arts but is still a fairly mainstream dude, I'm getting him a Ladanian Tomlinson Jersey (he's more of a Pats fan but lives in SD) and a gift certificate to Trader Joe's cuz the man has to eat.
For my sister I got her a Vera Bradley (some brand that makes bags) baby/diaper bag because she's pregnant and is due sometime in January. I got my Dad, my brother-in-law, and myself a thin sweater from the GAP because the GAP outlet store was really cheap. For my Mom, my brother and I are chipping in on a Bernina Swiss Sewing tool. It's like a Swiss army knife, only for sewing. Kind of weird but it's what she wanted. This post is really just a brag because I've usually never started shopping this early, never mind finished. ps. I might buy my Dad the Billy Idol Christmas Album if I have the chance, should be good for a laugh. |
