Ftp stole my money

I deposted $600 on ftp ran it up to $14k in a couple days. I Clicked cashout and went to sleep, next day I login my account is suspended I email them ask what is going on? They tell me my account is in a routine audit and they will have more info shortly, well we play cat and mouse for over 2 months and finally they tell me I somehow defrauded their site without telling me what exactly I did and I will never be seeing my money again. I suggest everyone avoids playing on this site because not only do they steal your money but they also take over 2 months to do a standard investigation. Very easy to be theives when you hide behind corrupt goverments depending on your money and have no toll free number huh Ftp? Email correspondents are below if you do not beleive me.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your patience in this matter.

We have completed our investigation into your account and have
determined that your account has been involved in fraudulent activities.
Your account has been permanently closed.

Any funds that were elicited through fraud that remain in your Full Tilt
Poker account will be forfeited to Full Tilt Poker. All other funds
remaining in your account are now held under the order of Full Tilt
Poker. You are no longer welcome to play at Full Tilt Poker as we have
zero tolerance for fraud on our site.

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your reply.

First off, I am sorry to hear that it has taken as long as it has to
only lead to the same point we were 2 months ago. However, please
understand that investigations such as this will take a bit longer than
expected - simply due to the amount of research and information is
needed to document and process.

With that being said, we would simply like to ask for your patience once
again until this matter has been fully concluded. Rest assured that upon
the completion of this case, you will be notified immediately on the
status of your FTP player account.

Once again, we thank you for your continued patronage and loyalty you
have given to our site.

How does a investigation take 2 months?

Hello Eric,

Thank you for your email.

As we have previously stated, we do not have a time frame for the
completion of our investigation. We have escalated this investigation to
our credit manager who will personally reviewing your case. When they
have completed their review, any actions regarding your account will be
taken.
I apologize but my colleagues and I cannot provide you with any further
information regarding this case at this time.

Your continued patience would be greatly appreciated.

It is now a month and one week since you supsended me and started your
investigation, if you are going to steal my money just tell me so, so I
can quit wasting my time. There is absolutely 0 excuse why this should
be taking so long, I have done nothing wrong. This is totally
unacceptable and irrational.

That is an impressive amount to defraud them out of in only a few days. What's the secret?

Re: Ftp stole my money

I think the key is a ton of stolen credit cards, a ton of accounts, and a lot of dumping to his account.

Re: Ftp stole my money

Ya nice glad you people are having a laugh at my expense and jumping to conclusions, what are you guys paid Ftp Shills or something defending them for robbing others? This would be fine and dandy if I was the only one they did this to, but others have had the same problem as well. Running $600 to $14k is perfectly normal by moving up in limits, also I won my money supposedly from Ftp regulars that I still see on this site to date. Defend all you want If I was really defrauding their site I would not come to any forum bitching about it as what I was doing would be illegal, or be stupid enough to send them in my id and utility bill. So try again Ftp defenders.

it is clearly more logical to believe full tilt over you, do you see why?

Re: Ftp stole my money

No please explain. It is logical to beleive a site located god knows where with no reprucutions if they were to screw someone over, or not even a phone # to call right? You have to sit there for days hoping and waiting for a response from them. Explain why someone like noble poker has a toll free number and has never given me problems cashing out but Ftp hides and takes forever to respond? Explain to me why it took them over 2 months to come up with a excuse and research something. I don't care wether people beleive me or not, that is your business not mine. They stole my money and I am letting people know about it. If people wanna hold large sums of money on their site after reading this that is their business.

you are some random guy with no posts, and they are a multi million dollar company who no doubt has no interest in stealing 14k from you and risking their business.

im sorry if you didnt do anything to have your money seized.

Re: Ftp stole my money

They sure don't act like a million dollar company, you would think a million dollar company would employ more people to answer emails faster and conduct research faster. It should take them less then 2 1/2 months to tell them you defrauded their site and to bug off. If they steal 14k there and 14k here your saying its not worth it for them? They understood after 2 1/2 months I would never play on their site again, so why do they care? Not like I can sue them or anything. It will cost me more then 14k to get a lawyer and file a lawsuit wherever the hell they are located.

Where do you live? Have you ever done any transfers through the site?

If you ran 600 up to 14k in two days, why were you in such a hurry to cash it all out? Seems like it was a good site for you to play at. Why abandon it after only two days?

I live in stroudsburg,pa. Why wouldn't I want to cashout poker is gambling right? If you go to a casino and run up 20x fold in blackjack do you stay there and go for 100x or do you take profits? No I did 0 transfers thru the site.

Did you play much heads up? How did you fund your account?

I'm genuinely curious, these posts are getting more common, I'd hate to think FTP is making a bank run, but its possible.

No not at all full table 10/20 nl, moved up to 25/50 nl doubled up 4 or 5 times there and cashed out. Mostly with 5 or 6 people.

its not called bankroll management when you are a losing player.

Re: Ftp stole my money

Your credit card? Have you contacted them to make sure there wasn't some issue on their side? If for some reason the charge was declined after you ran up a bankroll, the site will screw you. They're shady like that.

ericjones 11-28-2006 07:48 AM

Re: Ftp stole my money

No the site wasn't declined and still on my statement I have recently contested it though with my bank, if I can't get my 14k back atleast I will get my deposit back. As I said what they did was wrong and they have not given me a explanation on why they did it besides simple answers. If they gave me details on what happened, what I did wrong I wouldn't be going ballistics. But to wait 2 1/2 months only to basicly tell me were sorry you defrauded us now [censored] off without any further explanation is just wrong. Why would I send in my utility bill and drivers license to someone I committed a illegal act against. Now does that make any sense?

edfurlong 11-28-2006 07:50 AM

Re: Ftp stole my money

Sorry dude, I hope you get it resolved. Was this the first time you played at this [censored] site? I'm feeling more and more like they are shady as hell.

ericjones 11-28-2006 07:53 AM

Re: Ftp stole my money

Yes, 1st time on Ftp. I occasionaly play on Stars, and Noble. Never had a problem with depositing or cashing out. Atleast if I ever did I would be able to call Noble up and ask them what is going on, Ftp I have to wait 4 days or more just to get a run around. As I said I have no reason to lie or nothing to hide, its a very sad situation and I know I will never get my money but atleast I can make some people aware of their shady practices.

edfurlong 11-28-2006 07:57 AM

Re: Ftp stole my money

That sucks man. Do you have any ideas as far as what it might be about? You've had a couple months to mull it over, its probably something stupid that you could bring to their attention, some idiot college kid whose allin bluffs you snapped off on a 25/50 table or something.

ericjones 11-28-2006 08:03 AM

Re: Ftp stole my money

No clue but they will no longer respond to my emails so I guess I will never find out. Maybe going from $600 to 14k in about 14 hours of play raised suspicioun who knows. Fact of the matter is I did everything of what they asked and complied with them. Sent my license in and a utility bill, same adress and name as my credit card information so theres no possible way I did defraud them. Fact of the matter is they shouldn't have taken 2 1/2 months just to shoe me off. The damage they have done cannot be undone and I was really against these us laws banning online poker but they gotta find some sort of way to regulate these sites who are located offshore. If they wanted to just steal everyones money sort of like what Dutch Boyd did back in the day they could easily. I have no way of getting back my money and they know it and are probally having a laugh at my expense.

Well, thats not how it works. I believe you, but its possible that you ended up winning some money from from "bad people" with unlikely hands. You should consider going through your hand histories and checking out the big pots. Please report back.

If that is the case, they should of told me so and we would of worked something out. To bad I cant get my hand historys because my account is banned.

OP, this sux man as a couple of events could have triggered this, but it looks like FTP jumped the gun and discounted the possibilty of running on a sick heater and instead confused it with cheating...

dunno how this is gonna work out, but i hope it's resolved in ur favor...

OMG... you mean all that time went by when they were holding 14K of your dollars, and you didn't even think to review your own hand histories, to at least understand what FT was looking at...

On this basis alone... your story doesn't add up

btw... what was you screen name and what stakes were you playing...

Re: Ftp stole my money

Hi ericjones,

As a reminder, I am not in either the support department or the fraud department here. I don't know the specifics of this case, but I did briefly look into it. A few statements caught my eye specifically:

[ QUOTE ]
No not at all full table 10/20 nl, moved up to 25/50 nl doubled up 4 or 5 times there and cashed out.

[/ QUOTE ]
When I looked up the details of your playing time at FTP, I found exactly zero sessions at 10/20 NL, and saw that you were down overall at 25/50 NL. Obviously, lying about what stakes you played and how well you did is not a problem, but it did make me a little suspicious.

[ QUOTE ]
Yes, 1st time on Ftp.

[/ QUOTE ]
The account that had a little over $13K in it, maybe. When I looked up your info I also saw that you created another account 6 days prior to creating this account, which had a very similar pattern. Creating multiple accounts usually isn't in and of itself enough to get your funds seized. It is, however, clearly against the rules of the site and is another huge warning bell.

So already, with 5 minutes of looking into this case, I'm pretty inclined to believe our fraud department here. I did ask for more information just to be extra sure, and I do think we should be more forthright with our players about why we freeze their account (even if they're incredibly guilty).

When I do find out the details, Eric, I can either post them here or PM it to you, whichever you prefer. I'm not sure how much deeper you want me to look into this, though.

Doug

Don't fund poker accounts with stolen credit cards.

Don't send an EFT you can't cover.

Don't collude.

If you get caught doing any of these things please STFU and take your lumps like a man.

That should clear up all of these posts, good day.
