'Oops I did it again' by British folk artist Richard Thompson. Its pretty damn funky, but I really dislike the original.

I think an Irish group singing "Whiskey in the Jar" is alright, but the Metallica version is much better IMO.

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Zep. I'm not a fan of folk singer-songwriter [censored], so the Anne Bredon or Joan Baez versions suck, IMO.

How are 2 of the first 3 answers Britney Spears covers? How can you NOT like the originals?

I wouldn´t say I disliked it, but I´m not much of a fan of My Hero by Foo Fighters, but for some reason really enjoy listening to Paramore´s cover.

This is clearly the winner. I don't like NIN's original version at all but Cash's I listen to all the time.

I hear this one a lot, but I didn't expect to hear it here. Cash's voice is so [censored] beat up in this song that it's unbearable to listen to. Also, everything else in the song sounds exactly the same. So to me, it's pretty much "hurt" with [censored] vocals.

Hurt reake was excellent, but I like NIN and the original alot too. Depends what kind of mood im in in terms of which one is better.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Bob Dylan's version either.

Speaking of Hendrix, I don't like Little Wing that much but Ray Vaughn's version kicks ass.

even dylan himself prefers the hendrix cover of watchtower. i can't find the exact quote anywhere online, but dylan was once asked how he felt about the cover and said something along the lines of "well it's his song now"

Stevie Wonder originally wrote "Superstition" for Beck. However, Stevie's manager insisted that he record it before Beck did.

Oops, I did some reading and I'll ahve to check out the original version. I thought that an inferior cover(by someone other than Elvis) was the original version.

Hard to believe that Cash's version of 'Hurt' is so much more popular than the original, which isn't bad. Most of the tracks on Cash's cover album are just brutal to listen to, since it's obvious his voice is gone. My vote is 'Dancin Days' by Stone Temple Pilots, a cover of the Zeppelin song.
