PAHUD not working on UB?

It is saying I have reached the maximum number of hand histories right away. This just began this morning. Anybody else?

Re: PAHUD not working on UB?

Same here with Gametime+

I'm not really sure what to make of this. They actually managed to make a bad hand history system worse with this update.

For sure I'll stop playing at UB eventually if I can't keep tracks of my hands. Let's hope that either someone comes up with a workaround or UB fixes this ASAP.

I think Ultimate History is causing problems, in addition to PAHUD not working properly. UGGGGG

yep...bye bye UB until they change it back or until there is a workaround.

I just emailed support with this. Let's see what/if they respond:

Der Sir or Madam,

With the recent update I can no longer conveniently get my hand histories while playing because after 5 requests I have to close and re-open the hand history window.

It is very important for me to save my hand histories in order to review my plays and find where I am making mistakes.

I understand that there are possibilities of abuse by requesting many hand histories (e.g. data mining). Prevention of such abuses, however, should not be made in a way that is to the detriment of players just whishing to save the hands they have played.

If abuse possibilities are indeed your motivation behind the change I would suggest that you implement a system where one can only receive hand histories of games that he played hands in and remove the 5 hand limit.

As much as I like UB (especially the well-working software) the ability to review my plays and learn from my mistakes is really a crucial part of my poker experience and I cannot imagine playing on a site that prevents me from doing this.

I'm asking you to please reconsider this measure in its current form.

Sincerely,

I included that I use PT and an automated hand history utility to capture my hands for review and tax purposes. I asked them to not count hands the logged in player was in for the purposes of getting 5 hands or to finally just start saving any hand we were dealt in saved to our HD. They may not care much about the review option, but I am hoping the tax tracking reason has some weight. I intend to write them tonight asking them for all my hands each day ~1K like we used to have to do. They can send them by e-mail to me every day.

Re: PAHUD not working on UB?

Sent them this e-mail
Dear Sir or Madam,

I am very disheartened to see the recent changes to the hand history system. I play poker for a living, and as such, I need a very detailed record of my hands for tax purposes. The system before the update was already a hassle, but it worked pretty well. However, the update makes it all but impossible to play and download data to my computer. I understand that the system allowed for abuses from people that are not sitting at the table. I think the logical fix to this is to only allow players who have been dealt cards to receive hand histories for that table.

I enjoy playing at UB. The software is the fastest on the net and the games and bonuses are always good. However, if this current hand history system is a permanent "fix", I may have to take my business elsewhere.

Thank you,

Hope to see a solid response.

Re: PAHUD not working on UB?

Chit... I missede that HP... I would have wrote it for $500 lol...

Here was my plan: Use AHK to:

1) fire a timer to check for the pop up window.
2) If the window exits, kill the pop up, along with all hand hisory windows; then
3) Open a new hand history winddow for each open ub table via controlclick
4) resize all open hand history windows to nil and minimize, and move either to the corner of the screen, or hell, even off screen... hey... that gives me an idea lol...

I'd do this, but I'm clearnign a bonus on FTP right now.

Properous,

Get Crashpat's window manager, when you open the HH it will put it where you want it and the size you want it. He has also said he is working on a "fix" for the UB problem.

I made this, I think it will work. I don't have any time to test it tonight.

I'll integrate it into my window manager this week if it works.

Re: PAHUD not working on UB?

Please continue to send emails to UB if you haven't regarding this. The more people that complain telling their software is now unusable without poker tracker, the more likely they will be to fix this [censored] up. Don't copy, but here's what I sent.

Hi,

I'm very disappointed to see the updates to the hand history system. I play quite a lot on UB, and play on multiple tables at a time (usually about 4). As such, I need to see hand history readily available to see how other players play their hands for future hands that I am in. "Reads" are the most important part of poker, and having to reopening it every hand on each of multiple tables makes my playing on UB basically impossible. I also download the hand histories so I can look over how I played after I've finished my poker game to improve my game.

I enjoy playing at UB and I enjoy using the software. However, if this hand history change remains, I can not continue to play in UB.

Regards,

Re: PAHUD not working on UB?

I just received a response. Basically they are saying it is a "problem" that the programmers are working on fixing.

I answered them that I will watch the issue for a couple of days and play at stars in the meantime. I told them if things don't change back I'll be cashing out my entire roll.

Re: PAHUD not working on UB?

UltimateBet just kicked me in the balls

To whom it may concern,

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with your recent upgrade. I find it ironic that UB put out a marketing campaign stating that they "wont kick you in the balls" and within a week makes changes that can only be interpreted as a way to handicap the thinking online poker player.

The source of my frustration is caused by the changes you recently made to your hand history viewer. As a player who is constantly trying to improve my game I use my hand histories as a tool to analyze my play and learn how to adjust to specific situations that arise. I also look for mistakes that I made whether it is bets I paid off or bets I missed against my opponents.

It has always been my opinion the Ultimate Bet has the worst hand history interface of any online poker rooms that I play. Every other poker room allows the option to store your hand histories for future reviewon on your local hard drive. I am sure UB is well aware that some third party programmers developed programs that allows you to "grab" hand histories from the UB viewer window and save them to your hard drive. These utilities made p for the short comings of UB"s handy history component.

Now UB has implemented a restriction on the # of hand histories you can retrieve without having to close the hand history window and reopening it. This is nothing short of ridiculous, and illustrates to me that UB has no regard for the online players aspiring to improve their play.

I have always enjoyed the speed of UB's cash games, and choose to play at UB rather than other sites for this reason. Now that UB is attempting to handicap my progress as a learning player I have concluded that it is in my best interest to play on an alternative site. I have decided that I will leave UB and play on PokerStars, a site that now matches UB's speed in ring games, allows one to store hand histories on a hard disk with no restrictions, and offers excellent game selection.

Please be aware that many UB players share the same sentiment as I, you only have to read some of the popular online poker forums to verify this. I am sure many will not take the imitative to express their satisfaction, but merely move on to a competitors site.
If UB initiates changes to correct this injustice I may return, but am strongly leaning toward disassociating myself with UB entirely because of this and past problems.

Regards,
