Next time you complain about a bad beat think of this

Date / Time: 2006-01-31 20:43:00

7 left, WPT Borgata, TV table at 6.

Title: Peter "Nordberg" Feldman Eliminated 7th ($73,914)

Log: Erick Lindgren raises to $140,000 and Josh Spiegelman moves all in for around $675,000. Right behind him, Peter Feldman moves all in for about $515,000. Lindgren folds and Spiegelman shows As-Kd but Feldman has Ad-Ah. Feldman is a 92.8% favorite per the Card Player Odds Calculator. The flop comes Jd-10d-7h, but the turn brings the Qs and make Spiegelman his straight. The 2d comes on the river and Peter "Nordberg" Feldman is eliminated on one of the sickest beats we have seen in this tournament.

Tough to go out like that with so much on the line, tough beat. 70K should make it a lil better.. actually who am I kidding.

70k has gotta be a relative slap in the face when he should be going to the FT with lots of chips

gg nordberg, enjoy the money! its still a good chunk of change. im sure more results like this will follow.

reminds me of colson at 5 diamond, only worse

Worst part of it is how well he managed his stack. I know he's a hell of a short stack player, but this was really an incredible job of finding the right spots (and winning coinflips) - and then this. Disgusting.

Re: Next time you complain about a bad beat think of this

Ok, let me put it this way. I'm sitting at that table staring at edog, grinder and jdags all that have me hugely outchipped. I also know that I am a very easy read for them.

I am the short stack, I have 15 big blinds, I haven't been above average in two days.

Erick raises from the cutoff and the TIGHTEST player EVER moves in, and I look down at two aces, and I'm unlucky? Being in that spot and getting to have a no brainer decision and a 92% favorite after surviving 5 all ins is running soooooooo good.

I'm not bitter, disgusted or angry about the hand, I'm happy I didn't bust out due to some huge error in judgement or some big mental mistake.

Thanks THEOSU for the sweat and thanks to MLG for the kind words. You have some serious game my friend. It really wasn't that fun playing with you.

Want me to dig up some logs? My AA has lost to AK all-in PF 8/8 times in a row this month. I expect to lose as a 12:1 favorite.

How many hundreds of thousands were you playing for?

Re: Next time you complain about a bad beat think of this

When you're on the unlucky side of a 429,981,696:1 occurance, it doesn't matter. Those are the odds of AK beating AA eight times in a row.

Great job, great finish, and most importantly great attitude. I wish I could say I would react the same way, but I know that I've steamed over beats for days that were for 1/100th of the money that was at stake here. I dont think anybody would blame you if all you did was mutter 92% favorite under your breath for a month. The ony thing more impressive than your finish is your outlook on the game.

I dont want to see the math on this one from last years $5k buy-in at Bellagios 5 diamond.

2 players get the chips all-in preflop. One has AK the other 88.

Flop: AKK

yep you guessed it...running 8's!!

Sorry to hear about the beat Norberg. Your taking it right tho. You got your chips in with the best of it and it wasnt an error. Thats what we all need to look at when we leave any tournament. Did we play well? Where were the mistakes we made?

Hats off to you sir.

Congrats!
Nothing you could do bout the AA cracking.
Almost same thing happened to Ozzy one spot closer at the PCA. Unreal.

Just an amazing attitude to have after a beat like that. I'd probably still be at the bar drinking my woes away... unshaven, unshowered, and bitching to anyone who gets close enought to listen.

Congrats on a great tourney/finish. You're already more of a professional then Hellmuth probably ever will be (can you imagine him after that?).
